I speak Japanese, but not Korean. It's easy to tell it's Korean, apart from the fact that Samsung is a Korean company, because you will see a lot of oval-shaped and Tilde-shaped letters. Chinese and Japanese don't do this. Didn't mean to be a smartass though.

Quite a long advert isn't it.

Yep...
I realized just after I posted that Samsung is a Korean company...
My bad...
Thanks for the clarification.

And,
it IS a long ad...how cool though compared to the 5,10,15 and 30 second spots we have here in the states...
Not sure if the entire 4 minutes made it onto the air but,
It's really well done either way!

Just to get really pedantic... Han is actually a Chinese word too, as in Han Chinese. 95% of Taiwan's population are Han Chinese. But Hyo Joo yes a bit of a clue there.

Especially if a Korean comes along and explains this video...

Enough of you guys are stationed there, surely one of you must speak the lingo?

Hello, enough with the linguistics deconstruct!

Real nice advert. Well shot, cute and tells a story.
Actually more entertaining then some tv shows and even some US feature films.
And you know the visuals work as I can get the story line, and still not understand a word that was being said. Actually probably did understand some of the words, because the visuals are so clear.

That was so good.   And I don't think I have ever seen a girl more cute than her.

To be fair, unless Samsung doesn't advertise in Japan or other Asian countries, the company name has little to do with what language something might be in.

Lots of Japanese and Korean companies advertise in the United States (such as Samsung) and it's highly unlikely they would do so and not use English dialog.

Some company, I think it was Honda, did do a commercial in Japanese with English subtitles, but that was because the couple thought the salesman didn't understand Japanese. tongue

Well,
I thought the real genius of the spot was how her camera kinda' became
a recurring "character" every few minutes...it wasn't just your typical
"hey, this camera has this, this and this and a button to do this"...
and,in fact,
it still showed a LOT of cool, real world situations where the cameras
flip screen proved very,very useful!

That girl was very cute...I agree!
