Hi, I am working full time as a model.
I found some a gig on craigslist for a movie. They were searching for a body double. I loved it and would love to work as a body double more often. WHERE can I find this kind of work? I was searching on google but I couldn't find anything.
I live in NYC now.

There are body doubles (usually for nudity), doubles for shots where the face of the actor/actress isn't in the shot and they can save time and annoyance for a star by having someone else appear onscreen in the character's costume, and then there are stand-ins who are never shown onscreen but who go through all of the character's actions or just stand there for the benefit of camera rehearsals and lighting tests.
On the films I have worked on they were hired/cast through the same casting department/agency as all the other actors and extras.
Right, but be aware that body doubles and stand ins are paid at a higher rate than background, so these typically will go to SAG/AFTRA members.
True. You have to be SAG or AFTRA to work as a stand-in. But for double work, they will go with the girl who looks most similar to the actress - I did a lot of jobs like this before I finally had to join SAG. I think that goes especially for nude work (which I have by the way never done... but I know people who did!).
Contact a Madame Tussauds if there is one near you. I was the body double for Sarah Jessica Parker for the wax statues in Houston, Dallas, and Austin. It was a blast actually!
