Since I took portrait pictures of all of our Personell (yes he paid me, and yes he paid me good money above my loan),
and since we have an event this evening, he'd like to see all of those portraitpictures be presented on screen in "an original presentation".
He "has seen something alike somewhere on a fair, where the pictures "appear at first in other forms" before showing the real picture.
now... I know powerpoint can do a lot... on the other hand... can it do this? or do some of you know a good (freeware) software that can arrange this more easily for me? (save as an .exe --> plug & play) with built in effects etc.?
Thanks for some good advice, since... he wants to see it before 3pm (4hours left)

Good to see someone else like me that waits to the last minute. LOL
If you had time, which you apparently don't, I would have suggested looking at OpenOffice "Presentation" [openoffice.org] They have presentation software in their [freeware] office apps package very similar to PowerPoint. There is a learning curve with all software, so 4 days would have been better, and 4 weeks better still.
You asked for free - and while it does cost a few bucks, ProShow Gold 4.5 by Photodex is an amazing program that really works easily and well. I think it costs about $70. but you may be able to get a full functioning trial for 30 days? It is intuitive, fast and easy to use.
PSG 4.5 has about 250 transitions, moves the images Ken Burns style, synchs the music, and creates fantastic shows even in "auto create" mode. No, I don't work for the company - just a fan.
BTW - 4.5 was a giant leap over previous versions.
