No, you're oblivious. There is NO difference between I don't do nudes and I don't do nudes anymore.
They don't do them. They did, now they don't. Just like I was a kid years ago, I'm not anymore.
You just spent pages arguing with models and photographers about how models are dumb, stupid, retarded, ignorant, etc.
Seriously, if your paycheck is dependent on models who take their clothes off then A: You need a better process for finding them, or maybe should find a different means of money until the models come to you.
You are wrong.. there is a difference.
One is expressing yourself more clearly so others understand, one is not.
As far as my paycheck is concerned... Photography is not my main source of income and when I DO get paid, it is rarely a nude shoot.
I do not need to 'find models' as when I put up casting calls, models come to me just fine.
"I don't eat pizza"... and showing that photo of me eating pizza to people... people would say "I thought you didn't eat pizza".... then I have to further clarify... "I don't eat pizza anymore"... I could have skipped that process and just said "I don't eat pizza any more"... and there would be no miscommunication.
"Here is a photo of me eating pizza.. though I don't eat pizza any more, I am proud of the pizza I have eaten."
Most people would question your ability to communicate if you show things you claim you do not do in your portfolio as we clearly see by the hundreds of threads about this vary subject.... and then people like you have to come in and "explain" they don't do it anymore.
When your explanation wouldn't be needed if they from he get go if the model just said "I am no longer doing nudes"... which would explain WHY there are nudes in the first place in their portfolio.

No, because I don't have to explain myself to you.
You're problem is you think YOU deserve an explanation. You think you are owed that extra effort.

You are not owed anything. Get used to it.
Again.. it's not my problem if you want to look retarded...
Why I picked the adjectives I did.... stupid, dumb, inept... pick one..
A girl (or guy) looks just as dumb saying "I don't do nudes" and there are nudes in their port as I do saying "I don't eat pizza" with a slice of pepperoni and sausage in my mouth.
No one said I needed an explanation.. I was explaining that all the inquiries would pretty much vanish if people better explained themselves.
But you are right.. it's not my problem if someone wants to look uneducated or stupid or retarded.. whatever you want to call it... they aren't smart.

I think it is true that it would make for better communication if the model, and photographer, were clear in their respective bios as to what they shoot or don't shoot. However, I also don't think they need to explain the rationale for including each shot in their portfolios.
To me, a MM portfolio shold be viewed as collection of images the model or photographer has done in the past and likes or thinks promotes him/herself well. It may or may not be what the person wants to do in the future. That, ideally, would be made clear in the person's bio.
Maybe it's just me, but the degree of emotion doesn't seem to come up nearly so much with other genres.
Say I get in to modeling because I have a friend who sells wedding dresses and needs a free model. I really like the shoot and over a while I get a lot of wedding dress shots and fill my portfolio with them. After a while I get sick of wedding dress shoots, and I decide I want to do fine art nudes. -- Would you tell a wedding-dress-photographer that he is justified in getting really upset if I decline yet another wedding dress shoot with him/her in favour of working with a figure artist (after all, there are lots of wedding dresses in my portfolio)?

Personally, if it were me... I would charge for shots like that.. probably over charge what the current market could bear.
My wedding rates are about 3 or 4 times what the Utah Market can usually charge.. not because I am worth it by any means.. but because I absolutely hate weddings and for me to do one.. (and to make it worth MY while) they will pay my rates if they REALLY want me.. otherwise.. no skin off my nose if they decide to go elsewhere. (in fact, I prefer it.)
Everything in my portfolio is something I would be willing to do... a few shots though if someone wants to recreate them... it will cost money and trade is just not an option

This is nonsense.
One poses nude in certain circumstances and not others.
I wouldn't pose for men's magazines nude. I wouldn't pose in public locally.
I would pose for genuine artistic reasons and that is all; and even then as I said only in certain circumstances for various reasons.
You can always ask. It isn't clear cut yes or no.
The other thing of course for example is if one is going for fitting castings they are going to want to see you nude.
