Is anyone else disappointed in the new look of CS6, also some of my plugins from Nik Software and Imagineomic are not currently supported.
I am currently only using the trial version on a MAC, I will most likely hold off on the upgrade until I find a need for the new tools and the plugins are supported.
I haven't tried it yet but it seems like nik is always way behind in updating their plugins. With Adobe increasing the speed at which they generate new versions I wonder how many versions behind they will get. Shame because I love the plugins.

For me, the trial version lasted a week - the 32bit plugins do not work and I find it offers nothing to make it worth the expense. IMHO, it is sheer lunacy to upgrade...a fool and his/her money & all that!
I put VBox on the Mac loaded XP and Photoshop 6 ( not CS ) and got back all the wonderful .8bf plugins that made PS a pleasure to use. Adobe - kiss my grits!

I think some of the new tools are interesting and can be useful as well as lend a hand to the creative process and also speed up workflow.
I am also interested in exploring video processing which Adobe has added to the Basic version of Photoshop.

never been a fan of vid - so many do it so very badly, and not particularly interested in buying an entry level dslr that shoots it either. In essence, it defines the new 'amateur' and I mean that in a negative way....yuk!
It takes some getting used to. The crop tool, even in classic mode, is not to my liking - at all.
It tried to import all my settings (CS5 was still installed on my iMac) but it didn't. So workspaces, brushes, shapes, actions, etc. all had to be loaded in after the conversion.
The default workspace colors (or both bridge and PS) are dark grey. After a while, it does get a little hard on the eyes.

Many people do stills badly
I like that they added video so at least I have an opportunity to learn without spending the additional money on another program. I think the video appeals to my creative side but I am not really interested in including it in my business at this time, I think video is a very complex undertaking if you want to do it right.
You have to be willing to fail in order to get better.
MY D300s has video and has less then an hour of video time on it.
If by the look you're referring to how dark it appears, then no, it doesn't bother me because I can simply change it back to the way it used to be. As far as the functionality is concerned, I do like some of the upgrades it offers. More tools are handled by the graphics card rather than the processor such as the liquify tool. Camera raw now gives access to each individual color channel in curves. For those of us embracing the convergence of video and stills, we now have a basic but familiar set of the tools and functionality of photoshop.

CS6 is wonderful with 24MP and 36MP images - much much faster than 5.5, and I don't run into the situation I did with 5.5 where at a certain point PS refuses to open more adjustments or layers, probably due to lack of memory dedicated to the program.

That is great to hear. It took forever for CS5. I didn't upgrade until then and wouldn't have this time either. Been on the road since it came out of beta so I haven't checked. Thanks.

First off mac or PC...because i know for sure with Mac osx you can choose to boot into either 32 or 64 bit mode. go to apps/cs6/right click show info and choose 32 bit

I like it yes...but it's already screwed me once, yes my own fault of sorts since i was playing around with a live working file rather than a test image...
so i was testing some new methods and techniques so i scratched my layers to go fast...well when i was done i just quite cause well thats what im used to...much to my surprise PS6 auto saved in the background the version with out layers... lost EVERYTHING, my own workflow fault, but still beware
You got something wrong there, Bobby. The autosave in CS6 does not overwrite your original file. It saves the working file in a temp area with a unique file name.
You will never even see it unless Photoshop crashes, in which case it is auto loaded on the next restart of Photoshop. You can demo this by loading an image, whacking it, and then let it sit to the autosave time (minimum 5 minutes). Then use task manager to kill Photoshop.
When you relaunch, the image will auto load, and you original will still be in-tact.

I don't have the option to run PS CS6 in 32 bit mode on my mac. I was looking for it because my imangineominic plugins are only 32 bit. I had to run cs5 in 32 bit.

I have been using it for about a week and a half, so not real extensive yet.
Not likes, running a little punchy, things hesitate and then let loose. anyone remember 3.1 days? yah like that, but I bet in a couple of updates it will smooth up.
Like very much, no need for stupid conversions, all my files are working great. not just Nikon but cs4 opens just dandy in cs6, I cannot express how friggin awesome that is to me.
