Today has been the best day I've had in a while.
It's my three year anniversary with the boy. I woke up and as I got out of the shower he had laid out a card on the bathroom counter with a little orange flower (orange is my favorite color) tucked in between the card. Then I went to the kitchen and found a whole bouquet of wild-flowers, which are my favorite.
Found out I was approved for the insurance I applied for and called the Ohio State division of Rheumatology who was able to get me in in less than two weeks time to see a female rheumatologist who specializes in treating rheumatoid arthritis.
Then, the boy and I went to the farmer's market, The Body Shop (we both splurged a bit there), and the cigar store (so I could buy him his present) and went out to eat at our favorite place where I got fairly drunk and happy.
And tonight we are going to cuddle up on the couch and watch The Thunder hopefully beat the Heat again. I might drink a little more as well.
What has the rest of SF2 been into? Even if your day wasn't super great, feel free to share.
So awesome! Congrats on 3 yrs and with insurance!!
Today I woke up at 5 am, took a bus to NYC, had lunch with a smitten kitten, went to my Thursday long-term painting gig, took an AMAZING pee at Penn Station, charged my phone at a kind of too swanky McDonalds, and now I'm on the bus back to Boston.
Yesterday was the last day on Wolford-Brimley-man's deck, in the rain, working on top of 2 electricians... so today was quite relaxing in comparison
the highlight of today would be resisting mcdonalds when i walked by. they had a triple cheeseburger for $2. i got this Clorox spray for the bathroom tiles. got a shoot coming up and i want to make sure it looks good in case we use it. now i am watching Push Girls. great show
Three years is a long time.. and yay for the insurance!
I've been going behind my husband's back to plan out Father's Day. We will probably see The Avengers Saturday, even though I have NO desire to see it & I'm tired of everyone talking about it. He really wants to see it, and it's his weekend. Hell, I might even like it. I think I'm just annoyed that everyone else likes it .
Then Sunday morning, I have lied and told him that we have to be at Hale Koa (military hotel in Waikiki) at 8:30 am, and that we should probably grab some Starbucks on the way there. I would not tell him why we we are supposedly going there. We are REALLY going to The Hilton Hawaiian Village next door, which has the Mandara Spa in it, but I want to surprise him. So I'll tell him only after he parks the car LOL. Because we went to that spa on Christmas for the couple's "Exploration in Chocolate" package, and I don't want him guessing that I booked him at the spa that morning.
He's getting an hour long massage, and then an hour long men's mani/pedi with reflexology. He's always complaining about how sore he is from work, so I know he'll love that.. and his nails get really bad from working on the boat, and his feet are always achy from the big boots he has to wear.
Then we're going to have a picnic lunch on the beach & go to the art museum we have membership to - they have an exhibit on tattoos right now. And I'm giving him a handmade card and bottle of Burberry Sport cologne. He has no idea about any of it .

OMG.. some people hate surprises! He keeps asking me what we're doing Sunday, and last night he was like "I looked at our bank statement." I got SO mad. Even though nothing would show up yet.. they took our card info to hold the reservation, but won't charge us until afterwards. I was like.. how dare you! LOL.
Then he asked me to rub his feet & his back.. he constantly asks me that, and I used to always do it. But I mostly reject him now that I'm pregnant & tired. But I was secretly snickering inside. I got him the perfect surprise .

What a little sneak! I would've been annoyed too, lol. I hate it when my guy tries to figure out my surprises.
