Hi there, I recently paid £280 for 20 images on disk from a photographer who is also someone i'm on friendly terms with and who i've done a few tfp shoots with before, the images from which he used on his site and facebook etc. He asked if he could use some of the images from the shoot i paid for on his site, and i said yes but i'd prefer him not to use ones with my face in, or any of the 20 i paid for (there were over 400 taken so plenty others to choose from!). I've looked today and he has put up 8 of the 20 i have, and ones with my face in
It could well be that he hasn't seen my message yet, but even so, we talked prior to the shoot about what I wanted the pics for, and deliberately worked on shots that would emphasise my body and disguise/ shadow my face, so it's upsetting to me that he's just gone ahead and put those images out there for the world to see (and google to index!). I've messaged and text him today to ask if he would mind using different ones, and without my face in (they're not naked or anything haha don't get ideas).
I'm wondering where i stand on this? I've read that the photographer retains copyright, and i basically just buy the rights off him to use the pics. But I wouldn't have bought this shoot at all if i knew he was going to use practically all the pics i want to use myself. It feels like we've basically done another tfp shoot, except I PAID for it
Can anyone tell me their thoughts?
