Perhaps the best way is a reliable local lab that you've built a relationship with. Getting to know the people there will help make your pictures consistent, they'll get to know you and you'll get personalized help.

So if you think you might be doing large format color for a while, then finding local labs and picking the one that treats you well is advisable.

not sure if that helps?

Thanks.  There are NO local labs in PoDunk.  We have a Sonic, Wendy's and a Walmart... wink LOL

Closest are Memphis / Nashville.  2 hours away either direction.

Right now I use The DarkRoom in Cali for my 120.  They develop 4x5, but no scans on them, is what I gather from their site.

I did just find these guys..  They do scans @ 10.00 a pop.

I found these guys in Memphis.  Prices were reasonable too.

I used Chromatics in Nashville when I shot 4x5 color and then I did it myself . Chromatics will also run scans for you ---very high quality . They were my source for scans that were to be published or used in ad work .

Processing at home is pretty easy and lot cheaper. The big issue is scanning or printing, which take some serious money.
