I went to an OSU outpatient facility in Columbus to see a new rheumatologist because my last one sucked, like really really really sucked. He was mean and never did a single full exam.
Today I saw a young female rheumatologist who was just absolutely everything a doctor should be. My entire experience there was great to be honest. I hardly had to wait at all at any time, was treated with respect and kindness, and my doctor spent over 30 minutes asking me questions and examining me thoroughly. I felt like I could really talk to her and that when she asked me if I had any questions, I felt as if she actually wanted to hear them, rather than just asking because she has to so she can then shoo me out of the office. A head doctor of the rheumatology department then came in, looked at my hands, and told me that they were going to take care of me and fix me right up. I got some blood-work done which also took no time at all.
She's choosing to start from scratch and re-test me for things so she can make her own diagnoses. She brought up Sarcoidosis as a possibility. But, for now, we are just retesting for the Rheumatoid Arthritis.
I also had really good fish and chips today.
But, yes, I am so happy and just wanting to share that some doctors and medical care facilities get it right.
my stomach was a bit unsettling earlier so i popped 2 Tums and it actually made it better. some ginger ale would have been great too. not on such a grand scale as you but i do love technology!

Wow, got the results from my blood work they did yesterday about five minutes ago. Talk about quick. The doctor called and told me that while my tests came back normal, this could be just because my current medication is partially treating me and for now I should stay on my current regimen. She is ordering more blood tests to check for the possibility of lupus, scleroderma, and sjogren's syndrome. If those come back normal then I will get a chest x-ray to check for sarcoidosis.
I am also going to try to get my medical records from my past rheumatologist, who well, we didn't really get along all that great, just in case there were things that showed up on his tests and exams that led him to his diagnoses and that could help my current doctor. We'll see how getting those records goes, lol.
I just went to my first rheumatologist, she too was awesome like yours.
I got diagnosed with RA and Lupus, but there could be more. I had every joint in my body X-rayed yesterday.
You'll probably be getting lots of "helppp the neeeewwwbie" PMs from me in the coming weeks lol.
Glad you finally found someone that isn't an ignorant fucktard

Haha, well, it's a good thing I love to help then.
I'm so glad you found someone who was awesome too. I was beginning to believe good doctors just didn't exist. I am just so amazed at how thorough my doctor is being. She doesn't just want to stick me with a diagnoses for the sake of it, she wants to find the right diagnoses and then treat it, even if that takes more work and time. She's great.
Finding real good doctor is such a pain. In my case, I can't complain too much, I have a great family doctor. I can get referrals if I want. Next one on the list is for an OB-GYN because I want to get a second opinion/update on my endometriosis, and I don't want to see the doctor I first saw because she was the rudest, meanest bitch I've ever dealt with.
