I've gotten some messages about photo-shoots and have then contacted the same person via e-mail.  Only, when I go back to look at their page on MM, it says that their profile is either awaiting approval or has been removed.

Is this a spam?????

Almost definitely.  I would assume that they have been reported by other people on the site, which is why they try to get personal emails through which to contact you.

But these same people are still keeping in touch via e-mail and even through phone #'s as well?  I'm confused lol

They are spam/scammers. They send messages through MM requesting outside contact so that they can continue the scam.

Assuming that it's spam or worse, scams,  why would they stop contacting you just because MM removed their profile.  They may well not be aware that it's been removed, or care.

Take Augustine's advice.  For that matter, just go to newmodels.com and read the whole thing through a few times.

MM needs to let us know specifically if the member is awaiting approval, was removed, or was never a member to begin with, as the implications of each are different.
