I cant see how these images were done ... anyone any ideas?

http://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/644868/viewall

These images are good but are edited to get the effects ... but how?

Question answered ... many thanks to those who know how its done and for sharing the secrets to those like myself who are in learning mode.

Thanks to those who were willing to help, without you I would never have known the way to get the effect ...

Thanks again,
John.

What effects? There are so many images with so many different things done to them that it'd take an age to list EVERYTHING that's been done there.

I'd ask the photographer, seeing as you seem to want to know how they, specifically, work?

As far as the location shots. It looks like most of them were shot with a wide angle lens with a soft box or umbrella lighting the subject. The lighting effect is geared towards exposing for the subject and not the background, which is why the location is darker.

Hope that helps.

I suspect the guy used a camera then edited them with software.

... since your question was so specific.

To get the "effects". Easy, use a computer with Photoshop, you'll get it done in no time.

Unless you have some specific effects in mind, then there will be some specific Photoshop techniques.

I'll bet that they were all shot in studio and the backdrops (created from stock) added in post.

Many thanks

For the record, all the models shot are exactly where they appear to be.

Locations I use are London, Prague, Paris and various locations in Netherlands (North and South Holland)

In Manual mode Set your shutter to it's max sync speed (prob 1/250th) as a short cut use your live view when closing your aperture down until you see that all the ambient light is under exposed. Then set your flash to manual using wireless off camera and dial up or down it's power output until you get the exposure you want on your subject.

There may be some post processing to darken some of the edges like a spotlight effect.
