If I may..... would not a good photographer try to match his idea to a face or a body type? I have learned so much in the past hour reading this thred. While i believe in being out there sometimes and have some wierd ideas FUN is my game and would want my model to have fun also.
I get the feeling from some of ya'll horror stories there are just some real perverts out there and are just looking for a cheap thrill not art or being creative.

Wait, he's telling you to pay him so that he can shoot you naked? I'm not sure if this is not a surprise to the veterans here or this deal usually happens between models and photographers here but that deal is bullshit.

I've been paid more than $40 to shoot someone nude multiple times.

But, in your case I'd do it "for free".  I'm just nice that way.

Given her port, it's almost impossible to think that a novice could help her.  But, models do sometimes pay photographers for portfolio images, and there's no reason it CAN'T be legit for nudes as well.  It is just rarer.  A lot rarer.

I can see a modle paying a really good photographer and I mean really good one, but most of the time I understand paying the model. It is their body and the photographer is lucky to find someone with a face and body willing to do so it and not be a diva.

Neither of these "read" in the bathroom.

I think the real concept of concern is one that involves a toilet in the image.  I find most of the images of models on or around a toilet to be pretty pointless and/or "bad."

Yep.  The only time I ever shot a model on the toilet, she was fully clothed and standing up.  Used it as sort of a pedestal.  And, I'm STILL not showing it to anyone.

That said, out of 2500 or so pictures I have on Flickr, one of the two or three most popular is a lame shot of a girl in the tub from when I was very new.  Not really artistic, and while fully nude, not at all explicit.  A great model, as it happens, but she wasn't doing anything special at that moment.  I can't explain it.

Actually, I was paraphrasing in my previous post. This was what he said verbatim:

"My idea around Snow White is to basically have an implied rape scene where Snow White is laying down, legs spread, dress hiked up, vah-jay-jay showing, with the expression of being exhausted and looking like she's just been fucked by 7 little dwarfs.  But they are nowhere to be seen, except for the remnants of 7 little mini condoms around the area."

lol  Well, he had a twisted sense of humor at any rate.  That's one hot mess of a psyche right there.

It was nice of him to think dwarf gang-rapists are considerate enough to use condoms, though.

Maybe the idea of it having something to do with art is a holdover from Edward Weston's "Excusado."

I'm reaching.

harley quinn is quite popular and hardly lame.  Being that it is a trademark character, you can't do much with the images other than fan art, but still pretty cool

i had a photographer who wanted me to wear this ugly costume cheap looking silver skirt that stopped right below my belly button, with a pink lacy bra.. and black strapped heels.. and then wanted me to hold this electric guitar and look mad and pretend like i was going to hit the person taking my picture.. i did the idea, but when he was showing me the pictures I was laughing, when he thought they were great.. and he said "are you making fun of my style?"  i quickly responded back "no!  i love it, i'm just not used to seeing myself like that!"  haha OMG nightmare.. luckily he never used the pictures.. but he burnt me a CD and every now and then i'll show someone it.. it's very embarrassing hahaha

Lol the funniest part about it was that she seemed offended when I asked for a minimal rate on the project.
Some people must be on drugs or something.

Yup.. people are weird these days.. Below are three top examples when some get angry (not all relating to photography, but at my other job mostly @ signs & graphics company) especially when it's for non-profit or some "good cause" requesting/demanding free service & products.

1) Sorry, but we don't offer that service or product here. (some we have to outsource in which we have to pay someone out of our pocket)

2) I could offer you a 20% discount?

3) If you pay for the material, I would provide my labor & time free.

On the flip side..  I had hired a "professional model" to pose for a commercial shoot, where she agreed to being paid by the hour as her compensation.

She shows up with her boyfriend-of-the-day "manager" who holds up a contract in my face that gives "them" full authority over "my images", including selecting which ones I can and cannot use for my project that I'm paying for her to model and rights to allow them to publish any of the images I take on her commercial website and sell my pictures, without compensating me, one penny.

I respoded by canceling the shoot, and kicking them OUT!

I had a similar situation. i was asked by a band to do a shoot for promotional reasons. they did state at the start they could only afford costs but wanted me to drive on  35 mile round trip to visit and talk about what they wanted. then another 35 mile round trip to photograph them whilst performing and then again to do a promotional shoot yet again involving another 35 mile round trip. now i do appreciate new bands don't have a lot of spare money so just to cover transport i quoted £75. Guess what - told me i was too expensive

Not from a photographer but here's my story

A man messaged me on my Facebook page asking me if there was a way for him to get my pictures. I stated no, because that's not how things were done. That my images were copyrighted and belonged to my photographers and I. Later, he asks me if he could pay me to take pictures from him (this guy was shady, his fb had two friends and no pic) and I said no. He later messaged me again saying that if I ever needed money for a shoot, that I could text him and then he gave me his number.

He also went on to say that honestly, he was a leg guy and he had a vision of me being his Bettie Page and that I was a "gorgeous leggy pinup goddess."

I never responded again. But yeah...*shudder*

Just unroll them so they don't look like buttons.  I guess you could put some hand lotion in and around them, but I think a satire picture doesn't have to be that realistic.
