Worst idea a photographer has ever pitched at you
I have learned a TON of useful information. thank you. Jul 26 12 07:31 am Link If I may..... would not a good photographer try to match his idea to a face or a body type? I have learned so much in the past hour reading this thred. While i believe in being out there sometimes and have some wierd ideas FUN is my game and would want my model to have fun also. I get the feeling from some of ya'll horror stories there are just some real perverts out there and are just looking for a cheap thrill not art or being creative. Jul 26 12 07:53 am Link After starting that Catwoman thread in Fun and Games, some photographer told me that I am more suited for Harley Quinn and would shoot me as the latter.. W-T-F? Jul 26 12 07:55 am Link Jynxie wrote: Wait, he's telling you to pay him so that he can shoot you naked? I'm not sure if this is not a surprise to the veterans here or this deal usually happens between models and photographers here but that deal is bullshit. But, models do sometimes pay photographers for portfolio images, and there's no reason it CAN'T be legit for nudes as well. It is just rarer. A lot rarer. Thanks Jul 26 12 08:37 am Link I can see a modle paying a really good photographer and I mean really good one, but most of the time I understand paying the model. It is their body and the photographer is lucky to find someone with a face and body willing to do so it and not be a diva. Being that it is a trademark character, you can't do much with the images other than fan art, but still pretty cool Jul 27 12 11:13 am Link i had a photographer who wanted me to wear this ugly costume cheap looking silver skirt that stopped right below my belly button, with a pink lacy bra.. and black strapped heels.. and then wanted me to hold this electric guitar and look mad and pretend like i was going to hit the person taking my picture.. i did the idea, but when he was showing me the pictures I was laughing, when he thought they were great.. and he said "are you making fun of my style?" i quickly responded back "no! i love it, i'm just not used to seeing myself like that!" haha OMG nightmare.. luckily he never used the pictures.. but he burnt me a CD and every now and then i'll show someone it.. it's very embarrassing hahaha Jul 27 12 11:25 am Link Rik Image wrote: Yup.. people are weird these days.. Aug 06 12 12:10 pm Link On the flip side.. I had hired a "professional model" to pose for a commercial shoot, where she agreed to being paid by the hour as her compensation. She shows up with her boyfriend-of-the-day "manager" who holds up a contract in my face that gives "them" full authority over "my images", including selecting which ones I can and cannot use for my project that I'm paying for her to model and rights to allow them to publish any of the images I take on her commercial website and sell my pictures, without compensating me, one penny. I respoded by canceling the shoot, and kicking them OUT! Aug 06 12 12:10 pm Link I was asked to shoot a high end masquerade party for 6 hours for free AND they would allow me to keep 5 images for MY portfolio...... Guess what - told me i was too expensive Aug 06 12 01:25 pm Link Nude. TFP. 300 miles away from me. I'm a starving student, dammit! Aug 06 12 05:02 pm Link Not from a photographer but here's my story A man messaged me on my Facebook page asking me if there was a way for him to get my pictures. I stated no, because that's not how things were done. That my images were copyrighted and belonged to my photographers and I. Later, he asks me if he could pay me to take pictures from him (this guy was shady, his fb had two friends and no pic) and I said no. He later messaged me again saying that if I ever needed money for a shoot, that I could text him and then he gave me his number. He also went on to say that honestly, he was a leg guy and he had a vision of me being his Bettie Page and that I was a "gorgeous leggy pinup goddess." I never responded again. But yeah...*shudder* Aug 06 12 06:35 pm Link Model Posts: 576 Dumont d'Urville - permanent station of France, Sector claimed by France, Antarctica Aug 06 12 06:43 pm Link
