while I like the photo and you are extremely gifted, that shot is just a bit too "busy" to be a sure fire avatar. You have others in your port with will serve much better......such as this:

If you use a mono pic then you need it to be striking in some way. Curves, clean lines, great contrast.....something. This choice for avatar has none of those things.
