Most of the times I'm lucky to have a great MUA for photo shoots and fashion shows, but every once in a while I have to do my own makeup.  You all helped ne out with tips for my pin up shoot, which I appreciate.  But, I'd really like to know what some makeup must haves are that are just really helpful to have and can create a better look.  I recently discovered primer thanks to this forum, and the importance of moisturizing.  And this forum also taught me about other products I've never used like lip liner, false eye lashes, and good brushes.  Are there other products that can be beneficial?  Or techniques?  Maybe things that MUAs usually only know about?  Sometimes I get overwhelmed in the makeup sections at stores.  So many products!!

Darcy, have you spent some time reading through all the threads and links in the HMS FAQ's? That and a forum search for previous threads on this topic are a good place to start. You might also consider contacting a makeup artist in your area and inquire about a private lesson to cover tips, product recommendations, application techniques.
