Nothing of interest there at all, and I think the statistical information might be skewed.

In my honest opinion, those books are a waste of money. The OP can do research on the Internet about modeling. Because of her stats and since those books cater to mainstream modeling, they won't help her.

Also, I used to own the Aaron Marcus one. Yes, he has a lot of experience with commercial print modeling but he writes it as if anybody can become a commercial print model as if those type of agencies don't have strict requirements.

Posts are actually starting to make sense...

getting better, getting better...

this forum has opened my eyes to the lack of professionals and cyber bullies that have infested this site.

Sad Day.

BUT,

there's still hope for a girl like me, I know that the ratio is clear:

For every idiot who takes proper care and time to tell me they "don't like my look"

There's a way cooler guy (or girl) waiting to take mah pik-ture.

Quite sad that people really take time to tell me that they don't want to look at me.

After looking at me long enough to decide they don't like me.

Bullies.

Alas, I believe this is the gift and the curse of modeling.

Thank God i am smart enough to know that a lot of you are not as smart as me
(or other people who have constructive, professional things to say and do with their time)

What publications/websites/magazines would "fit my genre"

OR ANYTHING NUDE.

I have a lot of respect for nude modeling.

That's why I only do it for myself.

Good for you honey.

Nothing of interest in Arizona? You're absolutely right!

And you know what would settle all that speculation about my stats?

A free plane ticket and a photo shoot.

G'Day Sir. G'Day.

When you ask for comments and critique you need to expect both good and bad... take the punches and move on. Don't respond with a critique of their work when they haven't asked for it. If you want to do that you have to say up front that you are trading critiques.

If all you want is positive reviews I am afraid you are going to have a hard time here. Expect to be shut down and rejected more than you are hired/accepted. Lots of competition, lots of professionals, no time for drama and attitude.

Again, I appreciate your personal opinion.

Please explain what my approach is and why you think it is the wrong one?

It is because what I said is true, and nothing more.  Most photographers just don't want to deal with diva-like attitudes, and you are coming across like a diva.  It just won't work.

Welcome and to answer your question from another model's POV...the best way to approach getting what you are seeking is to check out the forums people post who will gladly critique your work for you in various ways or make an announcement about yourself...you can do that more than once a day...or take part in the forums, check out other people's profiles and comment on their pics or tag them, write them and make new friends and they will usually return the favor...you basically have to promote yourself in a not-so obvious way....no offense, but when you "beg" for comments, its not usually going to go over so well...They don't call it "Mayhem" for nuthin wink

Be prepared to hear the bad with the good and everything in between...don't cop an attitude if someone says something you don't want to hear, especially since you opened the proverbial "can of worms"...it will only make matters worse since you asked for "comments"...I understand you are a feisty girl and I am too, but if I don't like what someone has to say, I just thank them, learn from the critique if I really think they know their stuff and I admire their work, and try to do better in my next shoot.

Now my personal comments about your port...I know you are new, and only have 8 images on your port...but several are too similar (three with the same outfit and pose, etc)...so ditch some of those and try to get more shoots... the more you shoot, the better you will get at it and the better your pics will be and the better your port gets, the more you will get noticed in a good way...then you can make an announcement that you have new images up, which is always a good thing...C4C or "comments for comments"  Write to photographers you would like to work with or put out a casting call...Be persistent in a good way smile Check out the contests and study the ports who win consistently (models and photographers) and use them as inspirations and I see you already have a "list" going...if those are the pics that inspire you, try to emulate some of those images with your own twist. Its hard work, so hang in there and I hope what I've said helps even just a little.

Good luck and keep us posted with an announcement "drama queen"...and p.s. aint nuthin wrong with being a queen wink

Welcome to Model Mayhem.
Please take some time out to thoroughly read the rules of the site before starting any more trainwreck threads.

If you beg for attention and critique, learn to accept the good and the bad (after all, it's what makes you grow).
If you'd like to be treated professionally, acting like it from the beginning is a good start.

Good answers!

I wish I could say that I regretted some of the things I have posted.

I do not in any way, shape or form.

I totally agree with some of the past comments that I should be prepared for the good, the bad and the ugly.

----->>>>>That doesn't mean I don't have the right to defend myself or give my own personal opinion on what others are saying.<<<<<--------

Again, this is the Newbie forum, correct? Meaning I am new to this? Meaning I may not say or do exactly what other people are saying or doing?

This is not something I am used to or have even done much in the past as far a forums go.

I have read the forum rules and where I may have started this forum off wrong, I am aware of that and have posted in the proper place for critique. So, the persons who continue to critique my work and replied here are in violation. Not myself. I have made corrections.

Modeling is obviously not all fun and games. Not all people who are going to enjoy or want to view my work. Not everyone is interested in what I have to offer, and I did not expect that.

I just find it really frustrating that some people just can't keep their mouths shut if they don't have anything nice to say. I was raised better than that.

Aside from that, I really do appreciate the constructive, positive criticism and words of encouragement!

ESPECIALLY FROM OTHER MODELS!

Wow, this is Mayhem, isn't it?

Thanks for your answer!

However, I definitely posted in the critique forum for exactly that. I've mentioned that almost three times and counting.

Again, Nobody with any sense would expect only positive answers. Being that I have been in many competitive fields aside from modeling, I never expected all good feedback, all the time, everyday.

Since I did not ask this individual to say something to insult me, I have every right to respond how I see fit.
