I've been taking portraits on the side and I've always wanted to turn it into a full time gig. I've been working hard to define my style and the kind of work I want to get into. Now I know and it's commercial and editorial work. So I'd like to ask for a critique on my work. Are my images commercially viable and/or editorially acceptable? I realise my faults and I am still trying to fix it but I'd like to hear from others.

Your work reminds me of a photographer i've worked with www.chicproduction.com and he does well so I don't see why you shouldn't! Maybe invest in more lighting and experiment with different techniques. smile

I'd say you have a shot just like anyone else does.. You have some nice shots.  Starting to realize that what really makes one succeed is having sound business sense, alot of heart, and hard work. Taking nice photos is only a small fraction of it.

Truth of the matter be told the photography aspect of the business is secondary to the promotional and how well you market yourself.

Few photos and observations

Eyes dark

This is cute
[Pose, raise chin, point nose to camera slightly {don’t want nose to poke through outline of cheek}]
[Details, lint on llamas chest llamas right side]

This is fantastic, great eyes
[Only suggestion would be to raise the crop on bottom of image, like cut 2” off the bottom this will get rid of the split ends]

Raise camera to eye level

Great image
Prefer all of llamas left hand to be in photo, pose so less wrinkles in left hand and wrist, think long sexy fingers, raise camera to eye level

Excellent work, wish you success!
