Would you rather get $400 for the shoot or have the photographer arrange for Merry Maids or some other professional company to do a thorough spring cleaning on your home while you're shooting?

I think you are going to find that nearly every model would prefer cash. A person can do a lot more with cash, than they can with a sqeaky clean house.

Hi,
Merry Maids, but only while I am home, not while I am shooting!
[edit to add] I will also take someone running my clothes to the laundry drop off, and paying for it, or doing my oil change....my grocery shopping, anything! Time is precious and if I could shoot then those other things are greatly appreciated!

p.s. I am not accepting payment now but, trade, yes.
Forget that. A clean house isn't going to pay the bills. I will take the cash. Plus my apartment is tiny....so I doubt the price range would be close to what I would be getting paid for the shoot.

Yep.
I don't even PAY anyone to clean my place. If I had money to throw around, maybe I would, but I don't.

Cash... Why would I want to trade for having my home cleaned?
o.O
I can o so many other useful things with $400 than to have housecleaning.
Doesn't Merry Maids or another cleaning service charge only around $100 max per visit? Unless you live on the Hilton estate I can't imagine the two options are equally valuable.

+1
1. cash is much more convenient
2. i live with my family, so my house isn't my sole responsibility
3. given all the craziness that is my house (my father was a packrat of the highest order) i am pretty sure a Merry Maid would be less than merry if she came to my house...actually she'd probably quit on the spot

Cash. I can clean my own house.
+1 I don't like the thought of someone cleaning my house, let alone some one I don't know being in my home. So I'd rather take the cash lol... that way I can just buy what ever (usually new outfits for shoots and pretty shoes lol)
If I was only a model, I'd take the Merry Maids... 'cause I loathe cleaning, and thats what I'm looking at doing today. LOL. However, I am a photographer as well so, I rather take the $400 and buy a lens or flash or lighting...you know the bit.
And thats only taking the industry into consideration. Not the fact that I have bills and kids.
Cash. I would not want someone else to clean my house. Maybe if I was supervising them. Idk
But I would never pay someone 400 dollars to clean my house. About 15 years ago my mother had a cleaning lady when I was a kid. We had to clean for the cleaning lady! I hated that. Most of the time I would leave her a note and tell her not to clean my room. I am not cool with anyone moving my stuff. She cleaned the rest of the house, did some laundry, and did the dishes. My mom paid her 50 buckies a day. She left us and became a florist.
I don't mind trades for clothing or shoes maybe. Something I could take and use to expand my wardrobe. But not a maid service. As nice as that'd be, I need to pay bills before I need someone to clean my apartment.

CASH.
Cleaning ladies/services arent thorough, Id rather take the cash than have someone be paid to do a half ass job on my house. I can do a halfass job myself.

Cash. I'm a housekeeper by trade so I have a feeling that it'd be hard to find a service who will clean my house to my own standards.
And, yes, there are plenty of houses that cost a whole lot more than $400 to clean and not because they're big. Believe me, your house is probably not the worst thing I've ever seen...

My house is far from a mansion, but if I could get a good cleaning for $100, I'd be stunned. I sure as hell wouldn't do it for that.
