I am a self taught photographer, meaning I haven't had much formal training other than a few photography classes in college, but no BFA.
All my other training is self directed and I've been shooting digital since 2007.  Prior to that it was all 35mm film and only still life.

I am working on posing and natural light portraiture.  I've done some training in studio lighting, and would like to continue to do more, but I find it easier to manipulate natural light, oddly enough.

My images are grainy, I like it like that.  I worked in film and miss grain so I use a high ISO typically 500 - 800.  I'm not bothered with my images being super sharp.

I would appreciate some general feedback on my work.  The images in my portfolio are the ones that make me happy.  But I'm looking for feedback on my use of lighting, editing, and posing.  What could I do to improve?

Thank you all in advance.

After looking at your post, I came up with many ideas and tips of helping you grow as a photographer. Then I thought, this person has enough know-how to make their own look, and why should anyone (which once this forum topic gets going) tell this person how they should take photos.

Follow your inspirations. Find photographers you admire and figure out what it is about their photos that makes you want to pick you camera up. Then, make it your own.

And now I'll return you to following comments of people telling you how to shoot just like them.

Enjoy

Thanks Kevin, that's really nice actually smile
So maybe, what about a technical critique?  Good lighting! or Nice Pose!  Or why did you choose to backlight those subjects?  Or what's wrong with her face??  Or, why do you discriminate against the fellas??

I think I have found my style, I want to be better technically.  But, if I don't know I can't improve.

Just reading this you seem to have shot your self in your own foot
Not caring is a sure recipe for failure “I'm not bothered with my images being super sharp.”

This is what I would call the best image in your portfolio

i'd tone down the post-processing a bit on some of your pics.
