Because when the model is beside herself, I have to calm her down.
Honestly, I have NO FUCKING CLUE what this is about.

Are you referring to them being condenscending towards models, literally shooting from a position above the model or something else altogether?

It seems to happen when models post gibberish.
No idea why though.

If you are noticing that a photographer is being condescending towards you either in person or on the forum, please understand that is an individual person and not reflective of all of the photographers. For very good reason, I respect models and see working with models as a team effort. We need each other to be able to create great images! I would think that the majority of photographers feel the same way.
People who are condescending are very unpleasant to work with. So if you've met up with such people, then keep looking for other more pleasant people to work with. I'm sure you'll find them! Best wishes!

Some models I find are like "customers", it's a day out with their boyfriend and they want the make-over experience, but to be paid for it. Usually poses and expressions are awkward and the person is not relaxed or easy to coach or direct.
Respect in the workplace, but models model, photographers direct, harmoniously of course.

Ohhh that kind of "below" Well lets see. Maybe it's because they post questions that are easily misunderstood or barely legible?
Do you realize you've started more than 50 threads in the last 2 months?

I place myself above, or below, the models, depending on which results in a better image.

I presume you're referring to attitude, not altitude.
It's not all photographers any more than it's all models. Some people, though, persist in the illusion that their shite doesn't stink.
They're wrong.
Major Strasser has been shot. Round up the usual suspects.

Many photographers are egotistical and spoiled. Just as many are professional, hard working and fair. I also look at a shoot as a collaborative effort with equal credit for all involved.
As I am a music person, it is like having a million dollar recording studio. It means nothing until u get the right song/artist/musician. Good luck to you!

I shoot in my home studio, and often sit on my LoveSac while shooting.
Though my weinerdog, Falcor is on it in the picture... I'm generally shooting from waist-height, which is perfect for what I do.

So you take a defensive position as a model and want us photographers to keep it clean and friendly.
Good luck with that....
And of course, if a photographer had posted this and reversed the positions, you wouldn't be upset, right?

She's less likely to escape if I have her pinned down... and a nice heavy lens does more damage with the help of gravity as opposed to fighting against gravity.
