So it is semi-water soluble I guess. Sounds like acrylic-based paint. What kind of shoot are you going to after you leave Baldy? Are they picky about details of your paint job? 'Cause, if you think about it, if you can remove the paint with soap & water then some is bound to come off in a waterfall too.

If we can find a waterfall, that is. Gary sez there is little water there now. I'm going to scout the location first, to see what's up. I'll get back to you.

BTW: Who is Pashur? Web site?

I'm hoping to be very careful not to mess up the paint. Never done this type of shoot that is why I want to try. My next shoot is in laguna beach on the rocks as the tide comes in.

You can google pushers work. He is amazing! Pashur travels all around teaching others how to do what he does.

I found him here:
http://www.canvasalive.com/home.htm

He says the paint comes off "easily with soap and water", so you would have to be careful. Anyways, I'm gonna have to check the location up there to see if there is enough water flowing to do what I have in mind. I'll report back here later.

And what kind of shooting environment will you be in at this location?... very comfortable high 70 degree temperatures.  No sweating your buns off in 90+ degree heat at this shoot... and 94 degree heat is what is forcasted for this weekend almost everywhere in Southern California... yikes

Here she is again from my 'Backyard Angel' shoot. I think she would make a great Deep Forest Angel too. Good luck on that.

Sabrina,

I scouted the location today. Gary was right. There is not enough water flowing this time of year to get the shots I was planning on. I'm going to nix the idea for this weekend. I might have to wait until next spring, unless I can find another active waterfall in my area.

But the location is damn pretty for everything else! Here are some quick sample shots of the location I took today between 3-4PM, Auto mode, no tripod:

Photogs: Just put your model in the picture and NAIL THAT SHOT!

Just remember, this is a very low light situation, so plan accordingly.

Cheers!

Crap. Doctor says I have to elevate my foot more and no walking (even with crutches) for a few days. Dang. Dang. Dang.

Somebody say hello to me here. I miss all of you. And I have to miss this shoot which is one of my favorites that Gary has.

It's ok Ruben.  I'm not going either.  Just worry about getting you foot better so you can get up there in the spring when the waterfall is roaring.  That will be better anyway.  And perhaps, we can schedule something during the week...

Which cabin? I did not go past the remote cabin that is about half way up with the pulley and wooden stairs, just up to it. My legs were wearing out. I know there are better spots up there (I think) but it was too much distance for me. I believe some of your best shots were taken up around the bend from the remote cabin, right? If so, I'll leave that to the younger generation.

Yeah, I shoulda gone the extra yards, but I couldn't remember exactly where your best spot was and the water level was just too low anyway for me to continue scouting. I just now went through my archives and found this from 2 years ago. Is this the spot you are talking about?

If so, I guess I didn't go far enough. I haven't been hiking much lately and I'm a bit out of shape. Because I spend most of my waking hours in front of a computer screen - reading forums! My bad. I gotta get out more.

And, by the way, the temperature was nice and cool up there today. Very pleasant.
