This is totally without a doubt my favorite shot from at least the last 4 years of seeing Mt Baldy shoots. Great shot. My compliments to Gary and the two models.

It was a fun day and I'm sure I got some great shots! I haven't looked at them yet.
I became more aware of my ISO setting and it's effect. I realized some things that I read about but never practiced with the ambient vs subject lighting.

Next time:
1)  I would use a different light stand and maybe and second rear speedlight on a low stand.
2) Try more shots without any speedlight and "find the light".

I think the small Fotodiox 6"x6" diffuser worked great and I didn't employ the inner diffuser strip. I used a Nikon F1.8 50mm prime lens all day.

The 1.5 hour drive wasn't bad, so I would go out that way again.

Glad to seeya out there Bob... and a 90 minute drive is a piece of cake.  We had a few photographers last year drive to the Mt. Baldy shoot from ARIZONA... to escape the 100 degree heat.  Kinda like what happened yesterday.  It was 95+ everywhere else in Southern California on Sept 30th, while only 82 degrees at our Mt. Baldy shoot location last Sunday... borat
