Who thinks models should need to (or be able to) tell their tatoo coverage as an entry in their profile, along with eye color, hair length, and dimensions? Yes, we can often see in their profile pics. Yet often not, and often, as photographers, we are looking for models specifically with or without tatoos.

Thoughts?

I think it would be a good idea if there was a way to really have a uniform system of what constitutes little/medium/full cover tattoos. And then of course, what about models who have some tattoos but are so skillful at covering them with make-up that you can't even tell?

But overall, yes, I do think it would be nice to have that as option since tattoos can really impact the aesthetic of a photo.

Pretty sure models are currently "able to" tell / show their tattoos, and that photographers are "able to" ask, if they care.

It's a nice thought, but since there is no plausible way to do that for something as seemingly simple as nudity, I'm not optimistic.

I appreciate it when they do, so I don't have to ask.

I wrote about my tattoos in my profile because I'd hate to get booked for a job, and then have to stop working halfway through because the photographer just saw my tattoo when I took my shirt off.
Same with saying your 100 lbs and then showing up being 125 lbs, why lie and have someone expect who your not?

Because none of my tattoos are overly visible..( can be covered with clothes or jewerly) if there was a catagory for tattoo'd models, i feel like it would have to be split between "heavily tattood" and non-heavily.. but who makes that judgement?

I'd say neck and sleeve tattoos are what someone who specifically wanted a modified model would look for, so I'd be in the tattoo catagory for no reason except that people looking for nonmodified girls would never see me

Sounds complicated to me, and it also sounds unlikely to be consistent.

I'll stick with the existing method.
...  Look at the model's profile.
...  Look at the model's portfolio.
...  If the presence or absence of tattoos is important to you, ask the model
before agreeing to work with her.

I like it simple.

Hi,
I also think it sounds complicated. I mention my two in my profile.

Who has had enough stupid tat threads?

Seriously you need to look at the model to tell if they fit anyhow.  I would be far happier if they filled out the current shit in a profile let alone add more for them to ignore...

I don't think it needs to be complicated. A simple Yes or No would suffice when used in search criteria.   Just as there are many shades of grey dealing with nudity, any information helps when searching through hundreds of results.

I have no interest in using a "levels of coverage" option, but merely a yes/no option would be nice, to make it easier to find tattooed models in searches. Don't answer, if you don't want to, but I would love to more easily search for tattooed models. smile

Just add an unretouched 'polaroid' to the profile page, maybe? Not difficult really...

If a model has tattoos, I expect that to be mentioned in her profile.  Failure to do so shows a lack of professionalism.

I think if they're visible within the remit of her stated levels then yes, but if she only shoots fashion-portrait and has 'personal-area' tattoos, maybe she's within her rights to keep that private?

Yakuza-sleeves, well obviously; but a small butterfly next to her minge, maybe not...

I think a searchable tattoo field would be helpful.

Actually I think this is a really good idea. It seems like some projects specifically call for/don't call for someone who is tattooed - would be a nice yes or no search option

Hi,
I still think there is a large range of variance among "tattood". If it is artistic work then any tattoo counts as it will show. If it is for anything clothed and the tattoos are under the clothes then what is the difference?

would be nice. however, detailed communications should clarify everything of concern, including graffiti.
