Or maybe my pups are just too dumb to be afraid of anything Heh I don't know what it is with pups and toes/feet! Especially after a shower or putting on lotion! Mainly because we have an elementary school behind us and we're afraid of the parents reporting him and the laws on pits are strict here, like a 10,000 dollar fine and immediately put to sleep. The pit loves the dogs at Scott's house so I expect him and the pup will be good friends, he's going to be staying weekends here as soon as we fix the fence at our new house

Her mother just set the baby down on the floor in a car seat at a friend's house and it happened.

I don't believe that. And who sets a baby on the ground near a dog? A stupid person. Pit bulls were originally bred as nanny dogs. A poodle is far more dangerous. When I was growing up it was Chows. I play with Brutus hard and he has never broken my skin. I've stubbed toe and been crying and bleeding and he's come over and licked me. And he used to be a bait dog which is the dog they used as bait for other dogs to fight. He loves all the other dogs and children at Scotts and loves kids. He just wants to love on them. Dogs are animals. Animals are unpredictable. It only made the news because it was a pit. Dogs kill people every day

We ended up keeping Brutus because I explicitly asked if I give you this dog what will happen to him. The Humane Societys response was if hes not claimed in 3 days we'll kill him. I looked at Scott and said great we have a dog

I would never let kids touch a dog I own, especially at that age and with that size of a dog. Some kid grabbed luke's tail at petco yesterday and he went to bite before looking at me. I smacked the kid before luke got to him. He had to be about 5. You don't leave kids near dogs, regardless of the breed. You just don't ETA: Don't read this as unsympathetic. I feel awful. However, I got bit by a small dog as a child and it tore off part of my arm and wouldn't let go. My mother and father taught me not to leave things near any size dog you didn't want eaten and not to touch dogs. I love dogs, but I also know they'll kill me if something goes off in their brain. It's not a breed thing, it's an animal thing

That sounds more like they don't have room to keep them for longer than 3 days. That's different than saying "we think your cute and lovable pet might magically turn vicious because other dogs of the same breed that were trained to fight were vicious...so just in case, we're going to put him down." Both situations suck...but one may not be preventable.
