Hello everyone, I would love some feed back on my current portfolio. Comments on expression, poses, style etc. Everything is welcome. I am just starting out
In most of you're poses you look bored.
They're not composed or framed very well.
Posing seems lacks like your just hanging out on vacation or something.
Lighting is very flat on at least the first 7 or so. No highlights, no fill, no shadows.
In any event a smile would have helped both of them. You're a pretty girl, smile for the camera. Practice posing, get a better photographer. You have a good expression but mix it up.

No energy or creativity in your photos. You have a really exotic and nice look, now get off your butt and set up some shoots with photographers who can give you something to represent your look.

I agree, You are beautiful, and have a very erotic look, however there needs to be contact with someone who can capture it. Are there any sort of modeling/fashion groups in your area, that you can find on facebook or another networking site?
Well despite some issue with the images that you cannot control I think some different expressions are needed. Work on getting different looks from your face, practice in a mirror and learn what looks good or bad on *your* face.
When looking to work with photographers try to work with ones that have an idea/concept in mind before the shoot. Otherwise you get random snapshots of a pretty girl in a park, field, or whatever.

There aren't really great photographers who want to work with me as a beginner.. I'm finding it a bit difficult

I really like photo #10 very nice and #9 would be good except for some one trying to be artsy and shoot thru the bars.
at your height you need to have a very good smile and be full of life and good times. Commercial print/life style. Look at NON FASHION ads in magazines and TV that are targeted at your demographic and copy that style. I even just tear the pages out of mags and keep them in a folder as an idea archive for the poses, clothes, etc..
oh and dont struggle too much with this biz- I see some of your replies etc. I only see you as a hobby model with out much chance of going some there with it- so have fun. If you are concerned with expressions- you got to ham it up- be a goof ball , be ready to recreate scenes from your fave movies, - study acting. If you really like fashion and want to be in it: write a blog, study make up/hair, become an agent, designer, buyer (they go to shows)...

This is exactly what I thought as well. I study day and night for my law degree so you can image what sort of time I have. I was approached by an agency to start modelling because I thought it was fun and would be a good time
I broke my arm before fashion week a couple years ago and had to have an assistant for the first time. I placed an ad in Craigs list and the best response was from a law student who was interested in seeing NY fashion week. He met so many people and it opened his eyes to the possibility of doing licensing when he got his degree. Cool out come.
For you- google the agency- see if they have complaints against them. the only legit charges are about $150/year to appear on their web site, maybe $100 for comp cards, and you will need to get good photos and they will cost about $300 per session but for commercial print you should be able to get that in one go round - if you are prepared (that's from my experience a a photographer and model), try to meet some of their models who might be at the agency that day and ask them how things are going both in the industry and with the agency
Ask the agency what type of modeling they see you doing, ask for some specific examples, if they have a house photographer then ask what pics in his port folio are right for you- if you want send me a letter before you commit and I can give you my 2cents worth

Good luck
Thanks so much! I love both modelling and photography and if I decide to go ahead I will definitely contact you. Thanks for your help and advice. A lot of people on here have been very helpful and I am really grateful!
