My roommate showed me the trailer yesterday- I admit to not being a big movie fan, but OMG this looks awesome. I'm a HUGE anthony hopkins fan, and an even bigger Helen Mirren fan. I hope it ends up as good as it looks!

I hope so. We can use a good, well made hollywood movie! One that makes me want to go to a theatre again with some buttery popcorn (its been 5 years)

I played Alfred Hitchcock in a show and studied his voice for weeks. Anthony Hopkins doesn't sound like him at all.

There is a play called "Hitchcock Blonde" that ran on London's West End that I read and it was a great script, and contains scenes that seem to overlap this movie, basically being the filming of the shower scene in Psycho.

As for "Hitchcock" the movie, I think Anthony Hopkins is a terrible choice for the part. I'm not sure about Scarlett Johannsen as Janet Leigh.

Hopkins is a good choice for any role.  The guy played Nixon, he can certainly play Hitchcock. Good cast but I'd be more excited about this movie if the writer and director had any kind of good track record.

I caught the trailer for the HBO show last night and thought that's what this thread was about.  I was going to say it didn't look that great, but this movie with Anthony Hopkins looks a lot more promising.  Hopkins looks like he can pull of the role; the guy in the HBO show didn't convince me.

I have the book by Stephen Rebello about the making of Psycho on which this upcoming movie is based. We'll see how this movie comes out, though I think die-hard Hitch fans will prefer the book. Good info about the real killer, making the film and the audience reaction to Psycho.

And here's Hitch's original 6 minute Psycho trailer, that man was a crack-up.

In Real Life..It was Hitch's wife that ran that show. Alma Reville was an editor, before she became Mrs. Alfred Hitchcock. When Hitch received his AFI...he thank four people.

The Finest Cook
A Great Writer
A Great Editor
and The Mother of his Daughter, Pat

Alma Reville

While Hitch used the same Tech Team over and over...It was Alma who had final approval of it all.
