Many people on MM have an unlimited supply of ailing grandmothers who are so inconsiderate as to die on the date of a shoot, which, naturally, causes the person to flake on other commitments.
So, when was the last time anyone flaked because of their grandfather?
Are grandfathers in such robust health that they never die or are they so considerate in scheduling their demise that they work around the commitments of every other member of the family or do we just not care as much about our grandfathers?
There's planning that is involved when a Grandmother dies. Grandfathers are usually just left at the edge of the woods for the wolves to drag away- certainly doesn't take all day to do that

Like you said, it's much harder to trick your grandmother into a car ride without some kind of rigorous planning. Where as for grandpa he'll hop into the truck in a heartbeat to get away from grandma.

Both my grandfathers were dead before I was born.
You should collect data before jumping to a conclusion. Maybe you should have done a poll instead to see how many grandparents an average model has and which sex are still alive. Probably an idea to include species since there is an indication that many models have grandmothers who are cats, since the 8 lives (or deaths) seems to be quite common.
I only have one grandmother left, just saying. In fact no matter how funny you guys think you are lets not forget that a dying grandparent is actually a very sad reality for most people in their twenties and thirties. In fact this summer when may sister in law had to call in her employer I told her not to specify who and what and just tell them that you got a loss in the family and a funeral to attend. Now that's really sad, having to not be upfront and straight about matters because so many people are just weirdos and use it as an excuse.
