So, it's not a drastic change, but I'm considering dying my hair to this colour:

As other models/photographers do you think this will be a positive or negative on my modelling? Would people still want to shoot with me do you think?

I tend to do fashion/high fashion styled work with an alternative twist, what do you guys think?

It would suit you.

Not so sure if dying your hair in this color would give you more work in (high) fashion.
Think it would give you more work in the alt. industry.

Just my 2 Euro cents.

For the Alt market, yes.

Just my $0.02

Oh, no.

Good grief, no.

My opinion, anyway, for what it's worth.

I think it would be a step backwards.

Hmmm, opposing opinions. I'm not sure what to do. I love modelling more than anything, so maybe I shouldn't? But it could give me a stronger look for alt fashion?

Tricky!

Maybe try to tone your hair into that colour, with a dye that washes out after a few washes. Then get a few pictures of it and put in your port, and see if photographers seem to like it or not. Then whenever someone would like to shoot you in that hair colour you can just dye it back again smile Seems better to be able to switch between colours quickly rather than to make it permanent.

You can always try die that washes out.

If I were you I'd do it just to test if it boosts the demands in alternative photography!

I personally prefer natural hair colors... that's definitely more alt style.

If you usually work with a hair stylist on shoots, couldn't they dye your hair if they didn't like it?

If you are any good with photoshop (or know someone who is) I would suggest editing a pic you already have to make it look like you have lilac coloured hair. That way you can see what it looks like without actually doing it.

I think the colour would work nicely for Alt. modelling, and is pale enough to be able to transfer to other area as well. It is also easily coloured over, and able to be edited in photoshop.

Your port is already very much alt anyway so I don't think it will affect your bookings very much either way.

+1

Although I like the stark platinum color of your hair as it is now.

I like it smile
Maybe try the wash-out color as some have stated, though.
I know I've become dead set on a color before and hated the
way it turned out after. If there's a temporary way to see how you'll like it,
I say go for it.
