Had alot of bad feedback on my new shoot so I am finding it hard to decide what to put into my portfolio.
If you feel they are poor shots, why?
Me, the photographer, the location, the theme... ??
I really would appreciate the critique.
I actually like some of them wink

What ones are your "new" ones? I'm assuming the bleach/processed ones that are similar to your avatar. They aren't bad, but they aren't great either. The one with you looking down isn't doing you any favors. Its too processed and doesn't compliment you or your modeling at all.

They are almost unusable, but not because of you, unless you are the one who overexposed/washed them out and reduced the contrast.

No that part wasn't me smile
It is so disappointing, I spent alot of hours working on this shoot.
It was for a hair salon and I was really hoping to have some great shots out of it.
umph. lol.

It might be possible (and therefore it might be impossible) to get the photographer to give you unretouched images from the shoot which would undoubtedly be better than these versions.

I don't really see a "bad' one. There are probably 2 or 3 that are not as good and should probably go away, but none are bad. I think in the weeks to come you should weed out about half of the new shots as some of them look very much the same. And perhaps a bit tighter cropping on one or two of them. You are very photogenic and do good work. Have fun with all your shoots and good luck!

I don't think folks responding to your request here are looking at the posted dates on your photos. The washed out ones they are commenting on are dated October 25 and I think you're looking for comments on the November 5th uploads. I think these photographs are fine. I like the exposure, locations and props.

Later you say it was for a hair salon, so I would say the art director should be fired as I don't see emphasis on hair in any of these shots except the first one--close up on hair with flowers. If there was no art director the photographer should have paid more attention to purpose.

A general comment on your port. On a scale from one to ten, ten being best, most MM models only get a one or a two for expressiveness, having to do with eyes and face as well as angles of one's body. You get about a four, better than average but still not drawing me in. Practice in front of a mirror or learn method acting.

Bleach washed or just over exposed... not a fan.
This style of imagery has become so cliche because only a few can actually pull it (high key) off nicely. Wash outs like this used to mean just a bad exposure.
You however look fine in the shot but the capture process is not good.

Thank you all for the helpful feed back!
I am going to get in touch with the photographer and see if I could possibly get the raw images on disk from her.
You all are awesome for taking out the time to look.

Hey... you asked if there were WOW's, and I told you no.

I didn't say the images were 'bad', I said they looked overexposed. Some folks interpreted that washed out look to be 'creative flare'. It doesn't look like creative flare to me, it looks like overexposed. Is that your fault? Not unless you were behind the camera or doing the Photoshop tweaking.

But YOU did choose to post them and ask... so folks answered with comments on what they 'saw'.

Is the modeling "bad"? Nope... You don't look like you are a 'deer in headlights', and the poses aren't overly stiff or contrived.

Everybody looks at images differently... depending on what their interest is... I'm looking at them from a technical viewpoint... You are looking at them from a personal viewpoint (probably a little biased since they are images of you.)

In other words... different strokes for different folks. If you like them, post them. It's YOUR portfolio.

I'm not sure which images are your newest but you have a few outdoor ones. Your poses are nice, I think you look lovely. However, I think the location is a bit busy it takes away from you in the photo, that shouldn't happen.

I also think it's too bright on some, perhaps some post work would've made them better.
