From Wisconsin.

I heard nothing about this on the US media. I heard it on the CBC.

I wonder how many millions of fundies think the US is going to hell over this? Kind of ironic that this is homophobe Eddie Munster's state smile

Another step forward in the respect for civil rights in the US of A.

It was discussed & celebrated quite a bit on MSNBC.

It had to irk Governor Tommy Thompson quite a bit to get his ass whupped by one of them gays. big_smile

Civil Rights advance.  Happy, happy day.  We are not free until we are all free.

I've met Tammy several times. She is a real, humble, caring person and one of the best public servants in the history of my state. She works her ass off for *everybody*. She has a particular passion for bringing strong manufacturing jobs back to Wisconsin. She took a beating during this really horrible campaign. She's nothing like the shit in the ads. She can work with anybody. I've never heard anybody, regardless of party affiliation say a bad word about her. She's going to kick ass.

We are very proud of Tammy.

Speak for yourself . . .

Baldwin has been in the House of Representatives for 14 years and has accomplished absolutely NOTHING. Not for the country. Not for her state. Her biggest claims to "fame" were her bills to impeach Dick Cheney and Alberto Gonzales. Her "passion", based on her RECORD, not her campaign rhetoric, was trying for more than 10 years to create a federal Department of Peace and Nonviolence with fellow wacko Dennis Kucinich, so that the government could funnel tax dollars to fringe anti-war groups. She also she co-sponsored legislation that would allow taxpayers to opt out of funding the Defense Department. Imagine the Pandora's Box that would have opened if that breathtakingly stupid bill would have passed. Thankfully, as with all of her bills, it got no support. She is nothing more than a far left wing radical kook. The National Journal has her listed as (tied) the most liberal member of congress. But, what else would you expect from the representative from the People's Republic of Madison?

Yeah, I've met her, too. Obviously, I'm not impressed.

Tommy Thompson ran a horrible campaign, and did a poor job of pointing out how REALLY nutty she is.

On the other hand, Baldwin did a fantastic job of demonizing Thompson, and his years of wonderful service to our state.

Am I unhappy that I am stuck with her for six years. YOU'RE DAMN RIGHT!

(Hee-hee!)

Persecuting war criminals that caused the needless deaths of hundreds of thousands of civilians? Creating a Department of nonviolence in a violent country that spends more on building war machines and waging war than the rest of the world combined?

Sounds like two smart policies right there. Good for her and kudos to the people who elected her.

I'd like to start referring to my opponents that way.

Everyone else's party.
