There's no real way to sugar coat this;
- Your lighting is appalling, you seem to have lit the scene with one tight beam and underexposed everything else.
- The horse might as well be a sofa for all that you have used his presence in the photos, you have not captured any feeling between rider and horse.
- The images all seem badly framed, they needed to be wider or closer in.
- The lingerie selection is a total distraction and detracts from the images.
- The model is grinning like a loon in almost every shot.
- You have shot the model from many unflattering angles.
I agree with the poster above me. The lighting isn't great and I don't like the facial expressions for this particular concept.. just doesn't seem to fit. The poses and angles are unflattering for the model here. Great model though. If I had to choose, I'd pick the last one.. just 'cause I was looking at the horse's pose and face too. lol.
When I first saw the thread title, I immediately thought.. what's wrong with an overabundance of horse + model photos? I love the concept. (wasn't looking at what forum it was in)

Don't know what your were thinking with the lighting.
I really can't wrap my head around the lighting... And the fact your posture on this horse is horrendous! Your legs bother the Hell out of me, no art there -- just bad posture that would wind up landing you with a broken neck if the horse decided to do something silly or spooked at something.
There's a way to make art using horses in photos. Posing with a purple bra, plaid/checked jacket, and a velvet huntcap isn't one of them. They seem awkward and cliche. Get rid of them. Fast.
Also... I know it's winter, but ALWAYS clip your horse's ears and face at the very least to make HIM presentable in your photos. He also looks completely disinterested in the shoot. Shoot with someone who can crinkle a candy wrapper or something to brighten his eyes and get his attention. That honestly will complete the photos.

Agree with all of this. It's almost as if you lighted the horse shoot with a flashlight.

I like the one you're using as your avatar best (I like pools of light and shadows much more than even, flat lighting), but would rather see more understated lingerie or maybe a riding jacket unbuttoned.
It's easy to criticize a finished shot, but the "heavy lifting" is actually setting it up and executing it. What I can say is if I'd been along on the shoot as the art director, I would have asked you to take a few with the model looking away from the camera (in the avatar, it would have been nice to see the model looking in the same direction as the horse, or even looking to our left as a contrast). Glamour doesn't have to mean the model staring into the camera.

p.s. to add to the thread I concur about the horse's attention, if they aren't reacting to the rider, (hard to do with a model posing for the camera rather than giving the horse signals,) then someone needs to handle them.
this one is cool-- you should just photoshop it, improve the lighting balance and improve the colors.
just keep shooting more and more!
Is this a pregnant horse? or just a well grass fed one? ? Maybe a different angle would've shown more good 'horse' than this. Plus, the one ear cocked back with eye looking off and..head up, shows the horse was not digging this.

I agree that they are cheesy - a better outfit would be a long romantic dress and an art llama w/a romantic face and flowing hair or an updo - the glamor llama w/bikini horse just doesn't really work here.
I looked at your FRESH portfolio and I like the high key image that is the avatar and the photo to the right of it (same llama) - these are so much classier and well done than the more glamor bikini stuff IMO.
Sounds like you are experimenting and trying to find a style so kudos to you for at least getting out there and trying stuff.

Ooo I didn't even look close enough last night to check out the white of his eye showing! The model is DAMN lucky! He's definitely alarmed, likely by the feet against his tail region. Some horses you can lounge on like a couch and never have an issue, others you simply cant without there being comfort issues.
He's definitely grass bellied and the thick winter coat doesn't help.
I suggest hiring a horse familiar retoucher who can manipulate his ears, eyes, smooth out his coat, and soften his eye a bit. Otherwise it just looks like animal abuse.
