My brother works for Canon and I was able to lay my hands on 2 of these bad boys, one I am definitely keeping to add to my collection but the other I am selling. Like the ad begins this is BRAND SPANKING NEW ... NEVER even taken out of the box with a ZERO count on the shutter. Due to the high value of this item this is a cash only transaction, we can either meet in my home or my local police department.

Asking $6,700.00

I know it is MSRP and the asking price at B&H but here you will not have to pay an additional $500.00 in sales taxes plus the cost shipping and handling.

You are more then welcome to come by and inspect the camera, if you activate the shutter or mount a lens ... you bought the camera.

Any questions please ask away.

... I don't think B&H is collecting any taxes for anyone living outside of NY unless B&H has another store I don't know about, or unless NJ is an exception of some sort, and I'm pretty sure standard shipping from B&H is free for this product virtually anywhere in the U.S.

Plus you get to send the product back if something seems amiss.

I think dropping the price $6k might start people biting  wink

So... to test out the camera, we have to buy it?

I think people would prefer a "NEW" product not a used sample ... wouldn't you? Besides if it is defective when you try it out I'll give you your $$$ back, on the spot.

So now that you know the details are you ready to buy or did you just want to type?

I realize dropping it $6k would put it into a price range that is more affordable to many people but I'm not about to give something away :-) either just because the holidays are near.

What's Canon's warranty policy on a body bought not through an authorized dealer but from a guy who got it from a guy who works for Canon?

Is this a forum for TROLLING or a forum for selling an item?

People are turned off at the fact that you acquired something for nothing and are trying to sell it at the same price one could buy it from a reputable retailer and retain a receipt for registration and warranty purpose.

The suggestion to lower the price is just that. If you aren't willing to budge on the asking price to sell a product that is inferior to a product purchased at B&H (i.e. warranty concerns, return policy) then I wish you the best of luck finding a sucker to purchase it.

Moderator Warning!
Unless you are inquiring about BUYING the item there is no reason for anyone to reply.  From here out, if you reply it better be about buying the item or you will find yourselves in the brig.

Perhaps most of you need to re-read the Market rules?

Rules:
- You are using this forum at your own risk.  ModelMayhem.com takes no responsibility for ANY transactions that takes place here.  We do not have the time or manpower to investigate anything.  If something doesn't work out, it is your problem!
- No lowballing. Posting a ridiculous offer that everyone KNOWS shouldn't be offered.
- Flaming a thread starter about their prices.
- Responding with a post on where to get an item/service cheaper.

Enough.
