I've been avoiding foundation since starting my kit (Always relying on models to bring their foundation!) now that I pretty much have a decent kit I would like to concentrate on adding foundations/concealers to my kit.

Which do you recommend to start with? Which should I get first? Brands? Shades? Help? smile

Doing a search on this forum with 'foundation' as your key word will bring up a very long list of past topics and a wealth of useful information which will keep you reading for days if not weeks!

Also browsing through the cosmetic guide of http://inmykit.com/ will reveal valuable information and advice on the best foundation/concealers available out there, as well as other cosmetic products. This site belongs to KJ Bennett, Mua extraodinaire.

For foundation, i use Make up forever HD foundation and RCMA shinto palette either separately or in combination and i have never had any issues with these. I use the kryolan dermacolour palette (d1-d16) as my concealer but again there are tons out there for you to choose from. My foundation choice was based on the in my kit review and advice received from this forum. Well worth the days of research.

Goodluck!

1st.. you rely on models having the right foundation.. thats an huge issue for me, 90% of people wear the wrong colour, and the majority of products they wear and not photo ready..

anyhoo I LOVE RCMA, and Cinema Secrets and ben nye for bases, and I LOVE RCMA's translucent powders to set the foundation...

Face Atelier. It is a staple in my kit. You do not need the full line. I carry 1,3,5,7,10 & the adjusters. Granted I could get away with carrying less. And you need very little product for each face. It's gorgeous. I could spend all day raving about it.

Mufe HD - amazing. Gorgeous.

Yaby liquids. I just got them yesterday and already am in love. Not full coverage, more light to medium. But you can get the yellow set & heat from FA and mix to your hearts content. The white adjuster from Yaby is a must too!

I forgot to mention Graftobian. It's a cream foundation and it is beautiful. Not my fave for oily skin though.
