What is the Soapbox?

The Soapbox is where MM members can discuss politics, religion, or other controversial topics that are NOT related to the modeling/photography/styling/retouching industries.

Substance

The first post (aka Original Post, or "OP") must put forth a question or statement and must clearly state the point of view of the Original Poster. Subsequent posts must either agree or disagree with the OP, bring up a question that is RELEVANT to the OP’s statement, or respond to someone else in the thread as long as the response is relevant in some way to the OP.

No personal attacks

No personal attacks are allowed. Respond to the idea, not the person. The mods have final discretion as to what constitutes a personal attack. Personal attacks may be punished by brigging and/or removal from the site.

No spam

If you have more than 5 threads started by you on the first page, you are considered to be spamming. Bumping threads to keep a subject on the front page is also spamming. Spamming is also punishable by brigging and/or removal from the site.

Use of images

You can use images to convey your idea or further your argument, but only if you clearly state your point of view and how it relates to the OP. Images used to attack the Original Poster, or images that are used as jokes (not specifically relevant to the argument without some written statement) are not permitted.

Quoting

Do not quote a full article.  Copy and paste the relevant sections of the article and include the author and a link to the original.

Golden Rule

Would you like to be be talked to the way you are talking to others? Let's do unto others and all that good stuff.

Titles must reflect the topic

'Nuff said.

Hazard Zone

The very nature of this forum is controversial. Wear your hard hat and protective clothing at all times. If your skin is thin, go play elsewhere.

Moderators have final discretion

The mods' decisions are final.  Don't make a big deal out of it. Whining won't get you anywhere.
