Okay this is about as dumb a criminal as you'll ever find: a man applied to become a San Diego police officer and on the application he admitted that he had viewed child porn. After seeing the admission on his application, the police obtained a search warrant and found child porn on his computer.

He was convicted and sentenced to 240 months in federal prison.

DUMB

But I'm glad he got caught.

Gee, is this the same person that went to the police after someone ripped him off on his illegal drugs?  Claims his drug dealings on his IRS form?

I love stories like this.  We need more TV shows about this stuff.  Greatest humor out there.

Interesting that the story refers to him as a "message therapist".

I read it as "massage therapist"...fascinating how your mind sometimes sees what it expects instead of what's actually written!

I did the exact same thing.  I think the word "freelance" before the "message therapist" just set me up for it.

So does did he charge per post or...?

Then you would be surprised at the literal freak show of people who come to any sort of public-safety related meeting or session for application for a position.

Or even people that come up to individual personel asking how to apply?

About 15 years ago, when I was a cop (outside of NYC) this 'dude' was on the side of the road and flagged me down asking how to join my then department or if I could suggest other agencies. I ran his name and he had numerous suspensions on his license, and other wants for not appearing on minor offenses.

It was the evening beofre Thanksgiving and we were short staffed, nobody could take him to the county lock-up and he could'nt get anyone to post him bail.

I pressured him to keep trying and he finally got his mother (who he had not spoken to in years) to come up by train in the AM.

And when he left he still wanted LEO career information.
