Digital Anarchy Primatte if your original background is an even color or Topaz Remask if it's not.

I sometimes use Topaz Remask, but the Refine Edge capabilities of Photoshop5 are quite formidable.

+1. After giving Remask's trial a go, I found myself wondering why I would pay for it when Refine Edge did seemingly the same thing. Maybe I missed something.
