I shot the model in the studio against a black backdrop (mm #2205699) and the winter forest a few miles from home last year. Masked and darkened sky then combined layers and washed in a sepia tone, hand tinted selected areas. Separated skin and red cape in another layer hand tinted with more saturation. Merged all layers and added a new layer below of some old canvas. Erased main image with very low opacity to allow the canvas texture to bleed through. Merged layers again, dodged, burned and washed it, then finished it off with a cracked aged look.

I cut the model out of the original image that I had. I then laid a texture image ontop of the image I had of the girl. The colors of the texture kind of made different colors on the actual picture. I then painted some extra colors using different layer styles and  playing with the opacity layers. I then added a few brush designs to the hair to give a helmet look. I then saw that the winged looking part kind of looked like flames. I enhanced that with my brush and color and layer styles. I then added a brush in that made it look like sparks. I also added in some loose strands for the hair to make it look like her hair was caught up in the wind. I added color to the eyes and then continued adding color and layer styles to give it a shine. It was a long over developed process.

Created background planet using Lunarcell plugin from Flaming Pear. Shot model in studio against black background and extracted for placement to the planet background. Created second small planet (in hands) from Lunarcell and extracted it for placement in model's hands. Extracted foliage from a personal scenery photo I had on file and changed it's coloration through a variety of photoshop filters and placed the extraction at the model's feet and blended it in.
