She was hiding in a wood pile.  I laid on my belly and crawled into it and coaxed her out.  I was petting her when she heard the leaves rustle and got scared.  I grabbed her before she could run.  When I did that I scared her more so she grabbed a hold of my hand and started biting.  I wasnt letting go, so she just kept on chomping.  She was freaking out.  Jai, thankfully, threw her coat over Madison and grabbed her so that she couldnt bite and then we got the cage out of the car and she put her in it.

And, you never ever want to be bit by a cat.  It freaking hurts horribly bad, is REALLY swollen, bled all over the place and I'm on tons of antibiotics!!

a few years ago, Salem (the evil one) got out of my house while I was at work. The artist formerly known as Frog was there at the time, and he went outside and found her on the awning over my neighbor's porch.....so he climbed over a 10ft fence and up onto my neighbor's balcony to get her.....

when he finally grabbed her, she flipped the FUCK out. she doesn't even have front claws, but she tore his hand up so bad with her back claws that I was afraid he'd need stitches!!! it was such a nice bonding experience for the both of them. tongue

anyway, I'm really really glad you found your critter. smile I was worried!!!

I had a hand that looked like that once.

I rescued an abandoned kitten off the freeway years ago. He miraculously ran from the fast lane all the way over to the pullout lane, and when I got to it, I was able to grab him before he ran again. He chomped down on my hand and would not let go, but I hung on until I could get to my car and close the door with both of us inside.

Long story short... got him to a vet, and ultimately we found a good home for him. He is now the lifelong companion to a little shiatsu dog who had lost his previous little kitty buddy.

No scars... but even if there were, it would have been worth it.

smile

Glad your little kitty got back home!!!

I came home from work to him sitting at the top of the stairs leading to the back door of my apartment, while a little puddle of blood was dripping from his hand onto the step below him.....
that's probably one of the most awesome things any guy I've dated has done for me.

Jen was a mess yesterday.  Almost passing out (white as a ghost and rolling her eyes) and said she was driving herself to the hospital.  I was like...JUST GET IN MY FUCKING CAR!!

Thank god I had a crate from the squirrels in my car!  That is what I put Madi in!  I grabbed her like I grab unruly squirrels and raccoons.  So I don't get bit.

I've had my share of kitty bites, just not quite like this!!

I'm just glad she's home and not a freaking psycho!

Oh my goodness, been there, done that.

My grandparents cat got out, and when I went to grab her and get her inside she turned around and totally mauled my hand.

Unfortunately, I didn't have insurance, and couldn't convince my grandparents that cat bites to the hand are dangerous, and since I couldn't afford a medical bill I let it heal on it's on with the help of wound cleaning whatever...

...and now I have nerve damage in that hand and can't feel the 3 last fingers on my right hand.

Glad you got treatment for it, and glad the kitty is home.  Hopefully she got the running away out of her system.

The nurse warned me about numbness.  I havent had any of that yet, but my hand throbs really bad.  From my pinky finger to the bottom of the palm of my hand.

I have never ever thought that I would've got bit like this.  I was so shocked while it was happening.

She has not even gone downstairs to the door since we got her inside.  Shes very clingy.  Constantly following me around the house meowing (which she hardly ever did before) and she slept on top of my butt for a bit, then ended up right next to my face purring. I'm hoping she learned that outside is cold and it sucks.

I've got a crazy house cat that gets like that once in a while.  he sneaks out and for a couple of hours he forgets who he is.  Thinks he is a lion and attacks anyone who tries to get him back in!  few hours or overnight he figures out what he has done and begs to get back in.

Best thing to do for bites and scratches is  after the basic first aid, keep using
"100% Tea Tree Oil" (actually it is Melaleuca Altermifolia).  Here it is always at CVS (local chain drug store) but should be available everywhere.  Bwst thing for cat acratches but good for any type scratch, bite burn, or simple skin irritation!

tea tree oil?  Hmm, maybe I'll try that!  I've been using neosporin but I can't use it very long because it starts itching.

My hand is a huge bruise and lotsa chomp marks on it.  It is soooo sore. I was hoping it would start feeling better but its still very swollen and is bruised all the way up to my pinky and around the front of my hand. Never ever thought it would hurt like that!

Shes not feral tho. Shes on of my personal kitties and has never bitten.  If I would've wore gloves I would've never gotten her out.  She had to smell my hand to actually get her to come out and let me pet her.  She was fine until she got scared and I grabbed her any way I could so I didnt have to chase her again.

sad Poor baby! She sounds like my black kitty Zeke lol He got out last year for THREE WEEKS and the poor thing finally found his way back home with half the body weight he left with, and huge patches of fur missing. He wouldn't come to anyone but me and gave the most pitiful mewl when he saw me. lol He was soooo clingy for like 2 weeks after. Well, I guess he's always clingy (he's one of those cats that will find their ways from the floor, to the foot of the bed, to your side, to your neck, inching closer to you little by little until the next thing you know your entire left ear is vibrating because he's trying to rape it with his tongue).
