I'm bringing my own wardrobe as well as doing hair and makeup. I'm worried about posing. Do photographers usually guide you?
Depends on the experience level. Most of the models I've worked with so far were fairly new to it and I directed them almost 100%. Models with a lot of experience tend to already know what kinds of poses make them look good and are aware of their own lines, etc.
Depending on the photographer, you can ask questions as you go, like "Oh, you want me like this because it it makes my legs look longer? Okay, great." That sort of thing. Ask him to explain as you go. Obviously you don't want to delay things or get bogged down, but if he's patient then he won't mind talking as he goes.
Good luck with your shoot!
