Condemn a 1 1/2 hour documentary less than 28 minutes after the link is posted because you don't like the look of the director?

Obviously you didn't watch the film.

Try watching it - you just might learn something.

Yes, one dude making a film refutes years of scientific data...

Can you point to the peer reviewed scientific literature where he has conducted experiments and/or data analysis? Otherwise, anything he has to say is meaningless.

I'm not going to lie, I didn't watch it.  I don't have the time to watch sensationalist drivel from a filmmaker (not scientist) that's trying to get his name out.  I read responses and it sounds like he focused on a time period where there was a drop in temp. (they said that his data stopped in '05).  I said before that it is not a continuous climb, there are fluctuations in the data above.  Unless he says that scientists have been falsifying data and backs it up with peer-reviewed data, there isn't much that he can say to convince me that all science is wrong.  It sounds like he is presenting an opinion and not fact.  Just about anything can be "proved" if you try hard enough, doesn't mean it's right.  Feel free to put any points that you feel will convince me but I'm not watching the whole thing.

False argument The director never claimed to have done anything other than make a film.

I could remove "he" and insert "Al Gore" with reference to "An Inconvenient Truth" and not change the actual meaning of the statement.

Not at all the same as saying something like ----

[ Al Gore's involvement with the film "An Inconvenient Truth" was a brilliant viral  marketing  move to support his investments in smart meter management software and a carbon trading brokerage. ]

The very sort of thing the makers of  "The Boy Who Cried Warming"  warn about.

The same as the makers of this documentary from British television also warn about.

I've never seen that movie, either. I get my information from the peer-reviewed literature. So, is that video you listed substantiated by the peer-reviewed literature, or is the film maker just another political hack with an agenda?

It sounds like he also did the research.  If he didn't who was it done by and who has reviewed it?

Al Gore may in fact be vocalizing it for his own gain, no idea.  That's why I used science and never once referenced Al Gore.

I wonder whose the genius who decided it was a good idea to build a nuclear plant next to the ocean in a seismically unstable region is.

There is no way of getting around that. The surface of the earth both on land and the bottom of the oceans are covered with fault lines. Granted more occur in the "Ring of Fire" than anywhere else but hey an earthquake is an earthquake. Tsunamis can occur anywhere there are coastlines.

There are two options:

1)  It's true - okay cool

2)  It's not true - okay, people lie and/or are stupid...think we've proved that enough here, doesn't take away from a single point made in this thread

I don't really care what the owners or shareholders of those companies think. I care about the survival of the human species, and right now coal is accelerating its demise.
