I was looking at these amazing photos from 1942.

The thing that struck me is that 70 years from then it still looks strange to me to see women working in these Mechanical engineering positions.

I would probably take a double take today if I saw half as many women working on a plane etc.

Many many women built the war machine that crushed Hitler and Japan.

Probably the greatest Generation there ever was.

Survived the Depression.
Survived the Dust Bowl.
Survived WWII.

And the many many that did not comeback from the War.

All of them Heros in my Book.
