Doing a lot of Probate work and having lost both parents myself I have had a fair bit of exposure to death and it's effects...
I comfort myself by thinking the following...
First and foremost, they are in a better place. I'm personally convinced of that.
I feel our time here on earth in our mortal coils is intentionally meant to be short and that death is just as much a part of life as being born is.
And that when we die we go back to the ether from whence we came and rejoin all those that have come before us and all those that have yet to come as one common entity.
Further, if you think about what the most feared creature in all of history is you'll realize it is Vampires. Not because they suck blood, but because they curse you with the unforgivable curse of eternal life
While loss is painful, it is a selfish pain, it is a pain felt by those that remain, not by those that have departed, because they feel no pain, they are happy and reunited.
I went through this last year, losing a couple lifelong friends, a family member and my father in the previous. It's very tough to handle, especially when they are sudden and totally unexpected. My condolences.
Really sorry. There are no words that help when things like this happen. Life sucks when it feels like it keeps throwing fastballs at your face and you are forced to catch them with it. That whole when it rains it pours thing. Hang in there. At least those who passed on are on good company of one another. I am sending you a huge bear hug from anyone you wish it to be from right now. Close your eyes and take it.
