Anyone know how to create this effect?

I have been playing around in photoshop with lots of different motion blur ideas but i cant seem to get it.
(the way the model seems to be blurred off both sides)


Any tips greatly appreciated

Duplicate the primary layer, use motion blur to the right on the new layer, duplicate the primary layer, use motion blur to the left.  The example looks like the duplicate layers may have been set to multiply or overlay as well.

This might be a stupid question, but how do you get motion blur Left and Right. The only options in the PS Motion Blur Filter are Angle and Distance, but no matter what angle is selected, the filter pushes the blur in both directions.
