Am I the only one who think its disrespectful to message someone without reading their page first?
Maybe its just me, but if I'm interested in working with a person, I'll read their page in its entirety and message them only if what their page says matches up with what I'm looking to do. On the flip side, models message me asking to work w/ me and then completely defy everything I've said on my page. Either that, or they ask questions that have already been answered. Which tells me they didn't read my page.
I don't know about y'all, but I hate to repeat myself in any form. I feel that the bio part of the page is there for a reason. I've been known to cut a conversation off when someone asks me something that's already been answered.
Serious question: Do you think I'm asking for too much by expecting anyone I deal with to read my page in its entirety before contacting me?
It's not asking too much at all. Your profile is short and should take a minute or so to read but there's lots of people who just wont spend the time doing it.
I've had your experience quiet often. Models sending messages asking what the rate of pay is, when and where the shoot is, etc, even though it's all on the casting. Some replies puzzle me and make me wonder if it was intended for someone else.
If it appears that the model has neither read my profile or casting, I simply don't reply. Why waste my time. More than likely her reply will include questions that I've already answered.

I think it's just sheer laziness rather than disrespect. I see disrespect as being more personal, and chances are, they message a whole bunch of people without reading their profiles, so, nothing personal (same for casting calls).
I'd agree that it is disrespectful to message someone without reading their page first. With the caveat that it is also disrespectful to expect someone to read some of the drivel that passes for a page here, although such a page does reveal a lot about the personality and education level of the author.
I would also agree that you are expecting too much to think folks here would be bothered to read it all, especially if your page is one of those noted above.
I have not looked at your page, so none of this should be construed as criticism of your page, I'm only commenting on the general situation. If your page is concise, to the point, deals only with important professional considerations (rare here), good for you and people should read the whole thing. If it contains vague references to your hobbies of needlepoint and glassblowing, rambles on incoherently about your tastes in wine, . . . well, you get the point.

Just lets me know who I don't want to work with.
Yup.
In any Casting calls I put out I specifically point out that any one word responses containing the word 'Interested' in it, I will delete their ass.
It just smacks of somebody going along all the relevant Castings and hitting 'paste' in response.

The difference is cash. If I'm being paid by a client, I'm happy to repeat myself.
Finding models or photographers is no different than any other job interview.
Aside from reading a resume's an experienced person conducting the interview specifically pays attention to whether or not the candidate is listening to question. Are they responding to the actual question asked? do they follow directions in the interview and those in the posted job notice? Do they pay attention to details? The answer to these questions is just as relevant to the candidates work history and job skills.
My own personal opinion is that it is valid for someone to acknowledge limitations in your profile but then say, "I do have a proposal that I think you may like to consider." Some people here are a little flexible to go beyond their normal boundaries, some are not. However someone is simply stuck in their own head and gives clues that they are difficult to work with, I don't get angry. On the contrary I'm grateful that they are letting me know we wouldn't work well together and I do not have to waste my time any further.

I purposely don't read model's "about me" sections..
the more words they use, the more likely i would be dissuaded, from making an offer at all.....i am interested in their look, not their rules, not who they are, or that they love their boyfriends or cats...
i am sure they would prefer to have the offer and turn it down then not get the offer at all..
sometimes ill read the profiles after i send the offer, and there's been a bunch of times where i have rescinded an offer...
I am at fault here. When I need a model for a project I may look at forty, fifty, or sixty profiles and I just won't waste the time reading all the words. Especially if the model thinks this is Facebook and she talks of her dreams and desires. Or has a list of this or that.
A picture is worth a thousand words, so why waste time with the words ?
(yes I know, it doesn't work that way but it sounded good)

I specifically select for models who love their cats.
or (as Kaouthia mentioned) cash. either works for me.
