I'm having trouble deciding whether I like the color or black and white better, what's your favorite?

I prefer the b&w, I think it's a bit more striking.

Needs a little retouch work, but the black and white is the best. I love the contrast, and it really puts the focus on the model

I like the colour, it may work better in B&W with a better conversion.

cheers

I like the b/w as is. Has a timeless, film like quality imo.

Black and white.  I admit, I have an intrinsic weakness for it, but I think this image reads better B&W.

Colour, easily.  I almost always prefer black and white, but this one isn't converted great; the detail on the right side of the face is almost entirely gone, and it doesn't look like it was lit in such a way that this was supposed to happen.

Also ... this is unrequested criticism, but I don't like when people pose with an unlit cigarette.  It just feels phony to me.

B&W gives it a bit more of the dramatic touch.

They both have a '70's feel to them. I like them both. If I have to chose, I'll go with the B&W. The cigarette isn't lit and that kind of throws it off, imo. In the B&W that doesn't draw my attention so much as it does in the color.

I like the color version better. The B&W is missing allot of detail, I can't see her hair along the left side of her face...

Colour expresses what you want it to, Mono tint, expresses everything, there both winners, but for me, I'd go b/w.

Hard call on this one... I like them both. Each one speaks to me in different ways.
Guess you will have to go with the one that conveys your message best.

I prefer the b+w, but maybe with a little more highlighting behind her left side.

Easy call. Color. Black & white has posterization, very little detail in the shadow. Maybe a better conversion would help but we don't know.

As an aside on posing, as an ex-smoker and one who's seen too many people die of tobacco-related disease, I don't like to see anyone voluntarily glamourizing smoking.

Horse dung on the "background detail".  That's fine.  It needs a better crop and more foreground interest.  Here's a hint: http://img541.imageshack.us/img541/7329/smokean.jpg

The cigarette was lit actually, for those of you saying it wasn't... and she was smoking it, she's a smoker, that's why smile

I like the color version better, but only because the shadow on her face is too heavy in the BW one.
