Which celebrity would you want to do makeup on?
I would like to work with Kesha, her recent music videos had awesome grungy makeup looks. Also, Lady Gaga because I think she would be up for anything. Dec 20 12 08:49 am Link The ladies you've mentioned and Angelina Jolie, Megan Fox, Hallie Berry... but also some of the classic faces like Sophia Loren, Rachel Welch, Rita Hayworth, Liz Taylor and Grace Kelly Dec 20 12 02:25 pm Link Are you kidding me? ANY! Dec 20 12 02:26 pm Link Halle Berry, Catherine Deneuve, Waris Dirie, Heidi Klum, Sophie Dahl, Aishwarya Rai, Vanessa Paradis, Naomi Campbell, Madonna to name a few....the list is endless here. Dec 20 12 02:45 pm Link I'd like to work with a few guys but I love Ian somerhalder and would want to do something spfx wise. He is such a beautiful man. Dec 20 12 03:50 pm Link Deepika Padukone, Beyonce, Mia Wasikowska Dec 20 12 06:39 pm Link I'll restrict my list to the living - Universe, please deliver unto me: Adele, Rachel Maddow, Helen Mirren, Rooney Mara, Jenny Shimizu, Betty White, Michelle Obama, Aishwarya Rai, Alek Wek, Pink, Jada Pinkett Smith, Iman, Marilyn Riseman, Meryl Streep, Andrej Pejic, Tilda Swinton, Helena Bonham Carter, Emma Watson, Agyness Deyn …for starters Dec 20 12 07:07 pm Link Adina Pintilie wrote: +1 Dec 20 12 08:30 pm Link SJenningsMakeup wrote: Not weird at all. Although a look strikes a chord, it's a lot more than just the visual for me. Also has to do with how they handle themselves, their off camera projects or antics and that unquantifiable spark....i forgot to add other celebs i would love to make up....Marilyn Manson, Tilda Swinton and Bjork. My all time fav is Audrey Hepburn (RIP), i envy the MUA's who had the pleasure of working on her. Dec 20 12 11:26 pm Link Goodness... how do I pick? But OK, to name a few: Cate Blanchett, Simone Simmons, Amanda Sommerville, Eva Green, Vanessa Redgrave, Liv Tyler, Judi Dench, Joely Richardson, Inga Scharf, Maite Itoiz, Marit Børresen. They may not be celebs for everyone, but they are for me. Dec 21 12 03:59 am Link Emma Stone, Helena Bonham Carter, Scarlett Johansson, St Vincent, Devendra Banhart, Luz Elena Mendoza, Maggie Gyllenhaal... Dec 21 12 06:46 am Link I've been lucky enough to work with a few celebrity faces I've always wanted to but a few others celebrities that I've always wanted to play with are Emma Stone , Natalie Portman, Charlize Theron and Tilda Swinton Dec 22 12 09:56 am Link ok, I am the odd one here.... I'll admit it upfront. I HATE working with celebrities. I did makeup a few weeks ago on a teen celebrity... I'm not going to name drop and probably won't add her to my resume. I HATE this whole scene... I had to drive from the Hotel to the location myself (long story) and be let in a back gate with screaming fans all over the place.... I told security I was makeup and was with so and so... they went to check with "her people" I told the guy... "I really don't have time for this...Do I really look like a Disney fan to you?" I knew she had 10 minutes before show time..... By the time they let me backstage she was heading to the stage to sing... no touch ups..... nothing..... same thing at comicon every year....... the screaming fans, the autographs, I don't get the whole fan scene? I feel disconnected somehow... I do respect great actors and singers but I have NO desire to touch them or talk to them.... is that weird? Dec 23 12 09:45 pm Link Bjork! Dec 23 12 10:56 pm Link I would say ANY but if I had to pick a few it would be NeNe (Glee), Lady Gaga, Kerry Washington, Oprah (major challenge but love her) and sheeeesh the list can go on and on Dec 29 12 10:11 am Link Mary wrote: I don't think it's weird, but I think it comes with personal development and maturity as in my opinion it comes with respect - respect for oneself and showing some dignity (and thus not warping into a screaming fangirl) and respect for another's personal space. I don't get the whole "OMFG, it's that and that person, must get autograph/photo/chat... whatever" either. I don't even get how people assume to bother another person in their free time (like at dinners at restaurants, goodness!). Dec 29 12 11:10 am Link Florence Welch. Perfect skin, perfect voice. So incredibly talented! Dec 29 12 11:41 am Link Yeah. I'm kind of with Mary on this but I'm in lA which is very celebrity oriented and your almost judged by if you have any or not. So kind of have to play the game here. But it's a lot of hand holding and dealing with douche bag publicists who don't know shit but act all important ect ect I could go on and on. Jan 01 13 02:39 pm Link Nicki Minaj Cause I know absolutely nothing about make up, but hers always looks like it was done by a class of emotionally troubled kindergarteners fingerpainting on her face. So I think I could get away with it. Jan 01 13 07:01 pm Link Emma Stone. Period. I used to be on Aussie tv for a (very) little while & the makeup artist & I always used to argue about my eyebrows because I was basically into the scouse brow at the time (omg, the shame!) why didn't I listen? Jan 01 13 09:13 pm Link Natalie Portman Mila Kunis Angela Basset Jan 01 13 09:17 pm Link Second Nature Studio wrote: OMG LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL Jan 02 13 01:35 pm Link S_J wrote: The Niki Minaj topic has been discussed many times here. Im sorry but they way they send her out sometimes it isn't just the avant garde angle its that it is Jan 02 13 01:36 pm Link Sorry double post Jan 02 13 02:45 pm Link Tara Pags wrote: I'll take your word on that. I honestly only think I've seen about 3 photos of her apart from the viva glam campaign. All I remember is yellow hair, very pink lips and a rather large a$$et. Never seen one of her video clips either. I really hate pop music. I honestly didn't know what lady gaga was until someone explained her to me in about August last year. Jan 02 13 02:45 pm Link Cate Blanchett Johnny Depp Sophia Vergara Elizabeth Olsen Salma Hayek Megan gale Jan 03 13 03:18 am Link Tara Pags wrote: You guys cant blame it on the artist Jan 03 13 12:09 pm Link TheMakeupMan wrote: One of my fellow makeup artists was hired to do Nicki Minaj's makeup when Nicki was up and coming and had just signed onto her label (years ago). Nicki had a lot of opinions (demands) on how she wanted her makeup to look, especially the contour of her nose. Like Anthony said, unless you have a friendship with the celeb, you do what you're asked. Compare Nicki's makeup three years ago to now, I think Joyce Bonelli does the best she can. I get them here in DC as visitors, in a hotel I'm probably more familiar with than them, with the agency in charge of everything, and the DC scene is definitely more chill. I think we have one paparazzi guy who gets side pictures of them so definitely no big crowds. Usually the celebrities are so concentrated on some speech they have to give or so nervous about meeting the President that there is no time to be a diva or have their people get in my way.
