A few months ago there was a post on this forum with a link to a procedure for producing smooth bandpass masks (high mid tones, mid mid tone, low mid tones, etc).  I thought I had bookmarked it but apparently not.  Nor have I found the magic search terms to turn it up here.  Ring any bells to anyone?
