Hey, guys. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! smile

I have a gift for you. Just recorded a Girl With Freckles retouching workflow and how you might deal with skin retouching and problems like; discoloration of the skin, keeping the skin looking smooth and natural while preserving the Freckles. Also how to do color correction with curves and layer masks and various other tips & tricks. I will be using in this tutorial various techniques like Dodging and Burning, curves and other color correction tools, some intermediate to advance masking and more. I hope you enjoy the video. smile

BTW. Don't forget; you can use chapter makers in the description box to skip ahead to any part of the movie for easier reviewing. Just click on the time of the section you want to skip ahead, or simply  watch the video first and than very easily go back to the section of the video you want to see again.

I'd rip the audio from this and send it to people just because of what you said. Thank you and happy holidays! (:

edit:
Btw, isn't the softening that you talked about around 13 min, caused by the software of the camera when the image was created (because of the Bayer pattern), not because of the transfer from the camera?

Nice one Krunoslav!

Will watch it as soon as possible. But I have the feeling, that might have helped me with that pic. Was a pain in the ass!

I enjoy tutorials and view them quite often to try and improve my craft. However, I tried watching your tutorial and at 6 minutes in you are still talking, not instructing or teaching or demonstrating.

Slim it down some, guy.

Yes, you are quite right Sofia. I was thinking of needing sometimes to apply input sharpening for the softness but I explained it wrong. Nice catch and thank you for brining it to my attention. smile

What can I say, it's not for everyone but for your convenience I have made chapter links in the description box.

P.S.
Thank you everyone for the comments, I hope you have nice holidays. smile

I have to say I'm not a retoucher - I know my place... but I really appreciated being able to access and watch this.

So nice to be able to get something constructive out of  the Mayhem. (Not that I don't enjoy endless threads about Models Flaking!).

Thanks and have a Joyous Christmas!

Shhh. Who said that!?

I do not discriminate but I do enjoy retouching readheads. I have to admit.

Thanks for the tip on how to speed up the computer if the large amounts of layers are taking too long to process.

Lots of really good retouchers I know don't even know about or use freq separation. I have it as an action and I rarely if ever have used it (but you never know). I tried one time for wrinkles on clothes it did a good job but it's nothing you can't do with the regular tools.

It wouldn't help me in any way really.

I think SP is more popular her on this forum than anywhere else. I think you would be surprised how many people don't use it at all or don't know how. As Rigo (Rg Retouching) said... Not a bad thing to know and use but it's not something I need here, is all. smile

P.S.
Originally it was supposed be just 10 min video and I just kept doing this and that and this and before I knew it, I recorded 1:30 min. I did not intended to do anything that specific really so it turned quite spontaneous, real world kind of recording if you will. Hehehe.

I use FS routinely, but I can see where it may not be necessary or even helpful in many situations.  I like being able to heal on the LF layer, and the band stop option, plus painting on a clipped layer to the LF layer.  There are a lot of pixel roads to get where you are going I guess.

Also, many thanks, Kruno for sharing your expertise.  I learned some new things and reinforced what I am doing with D&B and my workflow.

The beauty the curse of Ps is that it's so versatile, but at the end of the more than one road leads to Rome, sort of speak. smile

I don't like them either I have to agree. Especially when the music is very distracting and totally unbefitting. Some are good though but most are not.

Here are couple of the ones that I like. smile

Good grief.

I learned more in the last 4 hours of following along with this tutorial than I have in the last 4 months.

Can't thank you enough for posting this.

Merry Christmas.

A year ago, I would have said that frequency splitting was the single most important technique I'd learned in PS for quite some time....... however as useful as it occasionally is, I hardly find myself using it anymore. I'm trying to keep things more simple these days I guess.

Great vid Kruno!
