Upon the suggestion of a fellow artists, over the last few months I reduced the information on my portfolio, added a non-makeup/non-retouched image, revised my portfolio photos and album titles, but now I am second guessing myself....

-What is missing from my portfolio? Some have said I was previously too detailed, now I feel I have scrapped bare bottom

-Are my album titles too detailed?

-Should I add published tears to my portfolio or leave them on my website only?

-Any further suggestion you may have is appreciated!

My opinion is there is no need for folders at all, 20 strong images should be able to sell you or not.  Th folders just cluttr up the display, its not like someone can't visually see them all.  If someone is that interested they can see more at your site, if they are not what good will more do.

Interesting....I always thought the albums looked more tidy, simple as why one would do so on their websites as well.

I have 19 images and I am awaiting a few new edits before I add a 20th (or more)...

Are there any further suggestions or critique you might have, AJ?

Thanks for that smile

+1

I agree that 20 images on a single page is all that is required.

Also, if I find you here on MM why do I need to know the URLs of every other modeling website you belong to?  I personally won't be bothered to go to other websites (e.g. facebook, other modeling sites, even private websites).  Everything I need to decide if I want to message you about shooting (including your rates) should be here.  I don't want to see an "extensive gallery of images", just your recent best.

If you have a couple of tearsheets it may be worthwhile to include a few (perhaps 4 of the total of 20 photos) in your MM portfolio.  Show me your most impressive four and who cares about the rest.

I like that you have a recent (should be dated), simple, no-makeup image on your profile page.

It's also good that you list your upcoming travel (2013), but listing the 2012 calendar of events is unnecessary.  All that matters is that your 20 portfolio photos impress me...I don't read (or see the need) for such a long list of "events".

I hope that's helpful.

I think you have included everything you need (except your rates), but it is packaged in a very lengthy manner forcing people to scroll and scroll and scroll....

Thank you, David.
That's a lot of great advice and I will see what I can do to make my portfolio more user/viewer friendly.

Thanks smile

I like the improvements you've made. I like the different folders. A lot of good photographers use them. Oh, and MERRY XMAS TO YOU.
