Y U NO WERK??  mad

Half didn't work.  I'm not missing going to the gym, today.  I skipped yesterday because of my neck and shoulders.  I was hoping I would sleep hard in a particular position that rests my neck and shoulders, but I didn't.  I've been up since 4:15. neutral

Tonight, I take a whole one. (If it's not better)

Did you know I am a doctor? Well, my initials are M.D. and I slept at a Holiday Inn Express last night. wink

MD's prescription for teh Diva:
- do your best to stretch all your muskles
- take a loooooooong hot shower. let the water really work your neck and shoulders
- stretch your muskles again
- grab a comfy spot on the couch and drink the better part of 2 bottles of wine while you veg in front of your fav movie on dvd.
- put on some soothing soft jazz and pass out
- wake up and take another super hot shower followed by a cup of coffee thick like syrup

voila! you're cured!

Ok, Dr. Doctor, I might take your advice, but shouldn't you...you know...examine me first?  Before you give an official diagnosis and prescription, I mean.  Or are you like WebMD? tongue

Hot water always helps and so does a shoulder rub.
Even better if applied at the same time.
Perhaps you need a nice young man to rub you in the shower?

try ice for 20 then heat for 20. keep switching. If one feels better than the other, stick to that. Not sure what you did or if the area is inflamed. Take motrin for inflammation if you are. (inflamed) YOu can take up to 800mg every 6 hours.

It's a chronic thing, so I'm used to it, but some days are worse than others.  At night it's just hard to get comfortable.

Tolerance? Happens pretty quickly with that stuff.

If it's inflamation related, I find aleve works way better than ibuprofen.

LOL...I don't have a tolerance.  I rarely use them, in fact.  I think the last one I had was in the summer.

trust me I can relate, but something is better than nothing. Also, not sure if you have a TENS unit at home, but use that if you do. A massage may help as well. Find what positions are comfy for you. Its hard. Ive been going through massive bouts of pain recently because of my move. Hence, the having drinks the other night, and recently. smile Feel better.

Well that theory is definitely out then. I'm going to guess that they're not working because you just hurt a lot sad Chronic pain problems suck.

I still have a half bottle left from my accident injuries, that stuff is knarly. I'd rather feel the pain.

No TENS unit, but I'll be fine.  It's not chronic pain, it's just that when it gets really bad, not much helps except hot showers, and sleeping a certain way.

A massage would help, but there's no one here to give me one. sad

LOL...exactly.  I usually only take half a pill for that reason.  Mine are from when I broke my foot, earlier this year.

*ETA*  And my workout wasn't bad, considering.  I'm going to take a nap, though.  Maybe it'll be fine when I wake up.

I found when I had my wisdom teeth out that if I didn't stick to the schedule of painkillers, the pain got pretty bad. Maybe take a half, and then another half in like 6 hours?

TBH, though, I was pretty close to addicted by the time all was said and done. I got rid of the last of them to... uh... yeah. To make up for my lack of impulse control.
