I have been adding new work lately. Please critique my port and tell me what you think.
Hmm, this is a very beginner port and I'm don't consider myself a retoucher, so I'm sorry if the critique seems harsh, but that's the nature of serious critique.
Tone that down a bit. The skin is orange.
If you are getting this close up, I expect you to fix the lines of the makeup as well.
This one actually looks like a net positive. I would think about trimming the stray hairs in the face.
You lost the detail in the hair.
A more reasonable job, but what am I paying for?
Unfortunately I like the originals more in at least half the images. A few things to consider:
1- Less is more.
2- Get the skin tone correct.
3- It's REALLY hard to touch up a bad image, it will tend to make you look bad as well. It's much easier to make a reasonable image better.
I understand that you are not looking to make money on this yet, and instead are looking for opportunities to improve your skill. As someone looking at your port however, my first question is not even skill, but do you based on what you are doing, can I be confident you are moving in a direction I want you to?
